  1. I got my G15 a hair before slaughter--best keyboard I've ever had, hands down. I will be using it until it no longer works. Hope that helps.
  2. Yeah, Microsoft Security Essentials by a lot. Don't use either one of those craptastic programs. Bilbo (my brother) has tested a lot of antivirus stuff in the computer forensic lab where he works, and Microsoft Security Essentials is one of the absolute best. If you want to pay for one, I would say so to use eSet Nod32...I love that program, but I use Security Essentials on my home machine (nod32 for work).
  3. is it an ATI or nVidia card? I have had problems like that with ATI drivers . . . it's why I don't buy their cards anymore (despite the fact that the hardware is actually quite good). on my old x850 XT, the only drives I could get to work were some beta drivers I found on the 'net for the card--thanks ATI. After having it for a while, new drivers worked fine, but only after a while.
  4. and you wonder why people always want to voteban you, San . . . You've made me a sad panda
  5. I will probably hose $30 on this this month--it's been a while since I had my admin powers, but now I'm playing a lot all over again so I figure--why not?
  6. isn't "cheap Mac" an oxymoron? (couldn't help it, sorry) You might want to try private adds, like eBay or Craigslist--I honestly think that's your best bet for finding a "cheap" Macbook. Sometimes my brother gets inside info on them though, so I will keep an ear out for ya'.
  7. voteslap san'! Oh, and welcome to the forums!
  8. I'm running an i7 on this motherboard, and I love it. I've seen a rather massive increase in my gaming capability, and I'm still using my old 8800 GTX. It doesn't seem what I have running in the background either--the thing just marches on like nothing's happening
  9. I would DEFINITELY go with an i7...the Sandy Bridge best the 1366 socket set in every benchmark . . . except gaming. That being said, the i7 I'm suggesting would beat the i5 Sandy Bridge you have picked out. I'd also stay away from that for the time being until they get their crap sorted out. Here is what I would change: Motherboard Processor SSD (this is SATA III, which should be faster than the one you had picked) Memory...Triple Channel supported with 1366
  10. Open Sight Slaughter night was awesome...one or two hits--three with an mp5 and you were dead--a bit more realistic and a good time.
  11. I'm still sad missed out on de_rats...so I would love something that includes rats maps. Oh, and remember the maps like Lego_Land that were knife/nade only? That was a good time . . .
  12. Haven't you seen the movie "Fools Rush In"? It worked for them!
  13. I only have one problem with this plan . . . I already had plans for this Friday night. Maybe we could make this retro-night map rotation a regular event? Like, retro-Fridays for a while?
  14. Like I said, legoland and rats...I rest my case.
  15. Where the devil is everyone? This is the first time I've tried to log in and found the server empty!

  16. RATS! I loved the rats maps! Also, legoland! I'm all for it!
  17. Yeah, I was in New Hampshire while you were right by where I live...go figure.
  18. I have 4 GB worth of DDR2 RAM laying around. I can dig up a link later to the exact model, but it's Mushkin RAM with nice heat spreaders. You can PM me for details
  19. FK: I dunno if you HAVE to pay for 4G...I thought you could opt out of it--that being said, I dunno a ton about Sprint voice plans. You could also just pay them $10 a month to have your phone on the plan...they are sweet phones. Preach: I guess all you get is the Intercept. It's likely the best smart phone that Virgin Mobile has to offer--but I'd consider looking at other companies to get a better phone before you buy. Like if you have Bell Mobility or something like that, they carry Android devices that are better. You can still do a lot with it...you can browse over these threads: http://www.samsunginterceptforum.com/samsung-intercept-rooting/hack-samsung-intercept-and-use-verizon-prl-to-talk-and-surf-with-verizon-3g/
  20. I have a LOT of apps installed, but before I being...you're on Sprint and you're not going with an Epic 4G or an Evo 4G? May I ask why? There is also the Evo 4G Shift coming out shortly for $150. I like the Samsung phones just fine, but I'd buy an Evo before I bought an Epic or an Intercept. What phone you buy matters. Different phones have different size modding communities and what not. For instance, the original Droid (Motorola Droid on Verizon) has a MASSIVE modding community. My Droid runs at a stead 1.1 Ghz, which is faster than a lot of the newest high-end phones. It's just an example of the modding I've done, but you get the idea. The Evo 4G has been consistently rated the best smart phone (including other OS's) on the market. I'm jealous that Sprint carries it and Verizon doesn't (though that'll be changing with the Thunderbolt--same architecture). Aaaanyway, I'll add more once I hear what your decision is going to be. XDA developers will soon be your best friends. :-)
  21. Does anyone know about Server editions of Windows? My basic question is this: we are interested in getting Small Business Server (or the features therein), and currently have Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. The upgrade path on the Microsoft support site says that I need to go from Standard to Enterprise...does Enterprise give me all the features that Small Business would give me? Anyone know?
  22. Yeah, found that same forum, however, when I disabled the service (as noted above) it turned itself back on. I did a scan with Malware Bytes--found 2 pieces of malware, disabled the service, and it works fine now. Weird.
  23. I see a good amount in the dwarf areas (though I'm human), but I imagine, like in the old days when I played the game, most people hang out in Bree and big towns like that from the books.
