  1. I got rid of AVG when I found out that it thinks FEAR is a virus, and deletes the program. I switched to avast! and it's much better. It comes with all kinds of protection enabled, but I just scaled it down to pure anti-virus. Avast seems to auto-update correctly, while AVG has problems on my systems (always have to manual update).
  2. Unless you have Photoshop and iTunes highly customized, I would just uninstall/reinstall onto another partition. As for resizing and moving existing partitions, I have no experience with that.
  3. As mentioned before, buy a PC from Dell or some other supplier and get a low end video card that supports DVI. Not building it yourself is a good idea. I wouldn't have thought of it.
  4. I don't think it matters much, but as a general rule I get my system completely up to date with drivers before I do anything optional. I might switch 2 and 3, but it looks good to me.
  5. Well I can tell you exactly what mine would be: 2 Double Cheeseburgers from Swensons (with lettuce and tomato) Jalapeno Poppers (with a side of ranch) A beer battered, deep fried cheddar bratwurst covered in cheese and bacon bits. Strickland's ice cream. And a Guinness Extra Stout, if they allowed it.
  6. POD is always good pump up music, I particularly like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TN5FjZsu8Y It's also clean, no worrying about swearing. Edit: whoops, someone beat me to it! lol
  7. Yeah automatix is really nice, I used it a month ago while playing around with Ubuntu, maybe I'll find a compatible version.
  8. I really prefer the K desktop and the Adept Manager to install applications, works very well for me since I am a total linux noob at the moment.
  9. Nice tips, I just installed Gutsy tribe 5 Kubuntu on two of my systems, and unfortunately I haven't found an automatix version that works with it. Despite that, everything works great anyway.
  10. Not sure if you're still looking, but I just bought a Samsung 21.6" monitor, here's the link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...6&Tpk=216bw Its getting outstanding reviews, and for good reason. Great color depth and contrast ratio. Great price too!

    Cool Site

Woot, 10 / 10 They are all obvious in their own ways.
  12. Or you can do the easy one step process. Uninstall it, then install it in the new directory you want. Then let it all download overnight. Ok, thats two steps, my bad.
  13. Yeah Captain Obvious doesn't seem too bright.
