  1. As for the heat you're getting, I don't have one, but with the setup you're sporting, I'd look into setting up a VERY good cooling system for your new baby, since you do NOT want that melting down!!
  2. Also, you should look at getting a HD with a good speed. Faster HDs = faster loading of your proggies/games.
  3. *aldan rolls his eyes at the preach...* It's possible that the LCDs that wacker was trying had poor refresh rates. That's something that CRTs don't have a problem with. If you buy a cheap LCD, it's likely got a slow refresh rate, so it will seem to stutter with a fast or graphic-intensive game.
  4. ...for which we are ALL profoundly thankful!!!
  5. *aldan simply sighs and then goes to the next posting*
  6. Hey, Ebil... at least you could CHOOSE to not come to FF08!! I HAD a ticket and everything all set up, and then I got hit by a southeast asian (couldn't speak English at all) young guy driver who decided that red lights mean that he doesn't need to stop to turn right, right into me as I'm going along on my bicycle through the intersection on my green light. ARRRRRGH!!! I'm out of the hospital now, but am pretty damaged, and REALLY frustrated that I couldn't go the 15 miles or so to the FF08!!!!!!!!
  7. Hey, it's the missing aldan here... I had a comp go burnie burn burn a few years ago due to a combination of things, but one I'd suggest for any and ALL of you to be sure to check regularly is the CLEANLINESS of the interior of your computer case. Why?? Well, dust is a wonderful insulator and will help to hold the heat in, so even if you do look inside it yearly, perhaps you should do so more often. I do so once a month, and the dust STILL builds up! *sigh* I hear that Ebil wasn't there, but maybe her DustBunnies were there inside the computer.... As for why I wasn't there... I'd strongly suggest that if you ride a bicycle on the road, be sure to wear a bike helmet. I did, and am VERY happy that I do so! I got hit by a guy (his fault, he had a red light and didn't stop before he turned right, right into me, who had a green light. Results: swollen and black & blue right thigh, whiplashed neck and back, and a torn right rotator cuff. The docs are still trying to decide if I'm going to need surgery for the shoulder... Oh, and the bike is not rideable right now. I got wolfie to come down to photo my injuries and the bike yesterday afternoon, so if you beg him, he might send you lovely pics of the results... *aldan shrugs* I personally don't care if you have them, so just point to this post if you wanna axe him...

  9. Ooooohhhh!! MiniMe went wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... Needs some Depends.
  10. I was thinking the same thing, Unclean...
  11. I finally received my computer from my old residence in CA by USMail yesterday. The box was pounded to jello and when I opened it, I found that the faceplate had broken off the case and the side of the case was dented in. I'm arranging for a monitor to use (thanks, Wolfie!), but still am w/o a power cord, since my friend in CA forgot to include it. *sigh* However, because of the lack of power, I can't tell if the computer is damaged on the inside or not. I opened the case up, but other than pieces of plastic from the faceplate, could find nothing else damaged. Of course, computers are evil that way......... In any case, if you're buying some piece of major computer hardware, pre-assembled, I strongly suggest that you simply have them send it via FedEx or UPS.
  12. My situation is that I'm still looking forward to attending, but know that I'm going to need a room. However, I don't yet know the days I'll need. How do you think I should handle this?? I know that the availables are either gone or nearly so, and while I'm easily w/in commuting distance, I'm NOT within biking distance, and since I'm car-less, I'm still also trying to find out how I'm going to get there, and how I'm going to get my comp there as well... *sigh*
  13. Yeah, I, too, am thinking (yes, I really am thinking!) that SC2 will come out before D3. What gives me that thought? Perhaps it's that they've been working on that game for the last 5 years or so... I have been playing with these series' since the first WC demo came out, and I'm glad that for the most part they've kept the gameplay styles the same, or nearly so, at least.
  14. Lol...bastard. No, not a bastard... just adopted. I actually am the son of married parents, though, even though both of 'em are dead now. Oh, great, now I'm gonna have to dry off my tear-soaked keyboard... "Daaaaaaaaamn yooooooooooouuuuuuu! Damn you ALL to HEEEEEELLLLLLL!!!" Oh, and lookie here... I've hit my century mark. W00T or something...
  15. 'before you get any wise ideas, be sure to tune in for at least one show of "locked up abroad."' Wow, they have a show about locking up broads!?! I wonder if I can find a copy to buy...
  16. "HAHA just saw this. I wish you woulda done that today because all I had time for was crappy McDonalds...someone was makin a run and I got in on it....now I think I am makin the runs, lol. -------------------- I take bribes on the backside" Um... if you've got the runs, I think that bribes aren't what you're gonna need for your backside... ESPECIALLY for McDonalds!
  17. Hey, if you're really looking for someone to paint that (not the dog), I hear that 'Daniel-son' has been lacking in work for some time...
  18. ...which is a good thing, in your case...
  19. 18 17 *aldan dances back and forth in anticipation*
  20. For me, I'm awaiting the arrival of MY computer from my old place in CA, coming via the USPS, I guess... or at least that's what my friend said he was sending it through... and I don't know if he stuffed the case or not. I really hope he did. It was due today, and shipped out 1 week ago, so if it's not there at home when I get there, the gubbermint will, well, the gubbermint will be requiring a visit to the proctologist to have my size 10 1/2 removed...
  21. Look at what she said and then ask yourself if you wonder...
  22. *aldan laughs at the auditory picture of DNA's 'smexy' voice*
  23. Wish I had the setup for 2 LCDs... That'd be epic. You know a the width of a 17" LCD is the same as the height of a 24" LCD? *aldan grows his nose out and then says, 'Oi, vey!'* Of course, it would depend upon whether or not the 17" and the 24" are both widescreens or not... *aldan rolls eyes*
