  1. 5 years ago? I was playing Lucas Arts graphic adventure games in the early to mid 90s... Those were the good old days of Lucas Arts, they do suck now.
  2. Again, this is from the makers of Dark Age of Camelot. Their high end PvP (called RvR for Realm vs Realm) blew WoW's crappy attempt at PvP out of the water. It sounds like it's still doing that. I agree with what everyone said, their strong point was never high end PvE so it's probably better to stick with WoW if you like that. Still I'd give the RvR a chance in War, it will be fun.
  3. I have to admit, some of the stuff we download off of www.hypem.com when we can't get it on beatport.
  4. Boooooo, L2P imo. This convo makes me miss the good ole days of stock west.
  5. Mythic did Dark Age of Camelot so the company is not an MMO startup. I'll add that their PVP was 1,000,000,000 times more fun than WoW. Their PVE wasn't as fleshed out so WoW stole the show there. Also, WoW took most of its ideas from the Warhammer universe. I'm not saying that Warhammer is going to blow WoW out of the water, but by no means is it going to be as bad as the two games you cited. Edit: I totally disagree that the models look identical in fact you can see a drastic difference. WoW goes for the more cartoon/animation look and Warhammer tries to look more realistic. (Note: I don't think either hit the mark)
  6. Hey guys, my friend and I have been mixing/producing electro since January and we've finally gotten to a point where we're ready to share our music with everyone. Here's a link to my friend's blog with our current demo mix and a track listing. http://jx2sounds.blogspot.com/2008/08/mini...ight-to-be.html We're getting ready for our first major show on the 31st of August and then we'll be working on a full mix. We've also produced some remixes which you can find on the blog I linked. We'll be adding them to our myspace page eventually. http://www.myspace.com/integratemusic The mix is short and sweet so we'll be handing it out trying to get gigs. Let me know what you think or just respond in the blog. Hope you guys enjoy it. Thanks again SJ for hooking us up with dreamhost.
  7. Ok, that's impressive. (celemony) I'm sure the mix is too.
  8. Sweet mo, why don't you put a CD quality version up?! I mix electro too with my friend. We just got the Pioneer CDJ 800s and I have old school Technics at my place. We have some ok mixes but we're going to be working on a demo. We also have a couple of remixes we're working on as well. Our first show is this Sunday. What do you use to mix? I'm sure we have similar tastes if you're talking about European producers. DLing your mix now.
  9. Justice is the electro group that has brought electro house music main stream. (Yes still many people haven't heard of them) Their album cover has a cross on it (and the album title is cross) and a couple of their videos seem to show the ugly side of violence but in a way that mocks it and makes it look idiotic. They're not Christian from anything that I've read (or if they are they don't publicize it) and they use the cross as a symbol. If you look at their video for DVNO, it's all based off of old TV/Movie intros so you can tell they're big into imagery. So to answer your question, I'd say there aren't religious undertones. Here's an interesting read on Justice and their use of the cross: http://blog.beliefnet.com/idolchatter/2008...-at-justic.html Oh and btw, I spin electro house and they were one of the biggest groups to really get me into that type of music. I used to listen to trance and once I discovered electro I haven't looked back.
  10. wow this is cool. btw sj, i signed up for dreamhosters a while back using the info you gave me, thx again. this would also be helpful so if you have any invites left hook me up plz... sgonzalez12 at gmail. thx sj.
  11. Off topic... BUT best smiley EVER!
  12. Yea there are more pages beyond the first one and he's adding stuff every day.
  13. The potrait of a man gone mad. Enjoy!
  14. The gameplay mechanics of COD4 feel good, but the way the game plays is not the kind of game I like. The teamplay aspect of TF2 is so much better than COD4, there's really no comparison. You can play with people and make it feel more like a team based game, but with the class system of TF2, there are few classes that can go commando and own everything alone. Also when you roll with a team of 8 to a control point, the battles can be intense and a lot more satisfying than anything I've experienced in COD4. I also feel that they really worked on balance where as COD4 has the fun factor of hey now I'm rich (got 4-6 kills) and I can get richer (call an airstrike or a helicopter and blow everything away) while the poor stay poor. That to me doesn't really take much skill and ultimately isn't rewarding. TF2 is also releasing new content (maps and weapon unlocks) which will change the feel of the game. If you like games that use teamwork, I'd say go TF2. If you like a multiplayer experience that doesn't force you to rely on others as much, go COD4.
  15. and they're no longer on the page... grrrrr. Too slow!
  16. gotta love eddie izzard!
  17. What are the respawn time requirements for TWL, CAL and CEVO? Is it just default?
  18. It's probably documented somewhere but respawns aren't a straight 20 seconds. It's dynamic based on class, how many people are that class, how the team is doing, etc (not sure if the map affects the spawn time also). I would suggest keeping it stock since that's how they balanced it. I know you can change it to a different number but sometimes as a medic I spawn within 7 seconds using the default spawn time. Other times it's 20 for a soldier.
  19. So I checked out gametracker and happened to visit the server forums for All Around Gaming. There rank went from the low 200s last month to 31st this month. I looked at some of their posts and it seems that one of the admins does a lot of seeding by registering the server on ranking sites. I'm assuming this gets them more traffic due to increased visibility. Their community doesn't seem to be all that special, so I'm guessing it's simply the seeding. Whoever ends up being the lead admin for the server should find out a bunch of ranking sites to register the server on. I play regularly on n602 and they have decent traffic. The server is full every night without fail and has regulars. The map rotation is stock and there are custom maps on the server that are not in rotation. So I would say it's not the maps/rotation that make or break the server. I checked out some of the top servers on gametracker and of course they're the 24/7 servers. I wouldn't have a 24/7 server as a main, but an additional server would be nice. At any rate focusing on making one server successful is the goal here. Hope this info helps. SEEDING FTW!
  20. yes! wait, does that mean i'm tech support? i expect in house support sj... kinda like home doctor visits. use your imagination.
  21. Thanks for the replies everyone. I read some reviews at webhostingjusry.com and SJ told me about the hosting service he uses. I think I'm going to go with his suggestion, they got decent reviews and that way if there are ever any problems with the service I can get it resolved without having to bother anyone else.
  22. I was looking at the review sites for FTP hosting and they all seem to be reviewed by the hosting company in question, maybe I'm just not looking at the right place though. At any rate, my friend and I are working on music and we use a lot of samples. We want an easy way to share them with each other without having to put them on an external drive that would be traded back and forth. This way we can just upload a sample and then grab it off the FTP and go. Does anyone know of any good FTP hosts that aren't really expensive? Thanks in advance.
