I played a lot of CS with Wayfarer. I knew him not personally but as a friendly voice in-game. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. He will be missed.

Apparently Toshiba laptops are notorious for being a pain to get apart. I've tried to take it apart before with no luck. I have examined the intakes and exhausts and they appear clear. The CPU exhaust is clear (it runs constantly and has good air flow). Cujo, I will give that website a try right now. Thanks for the help!

As far as I know the one's I have are the the latest...I check Nvidia's website pretty regularly for my home computer and my laptop.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite P105-S9722 Graphics Card: Geforce Go 7900 GS Drivers: 179.48 Beta (Latest and greatest form February 11th 2009) For about the last 6 months (hehe ) my laptop has been running really hot. Its the GPU, its running at around 100°C (that's not a typo), and I can't find a way to speed up the fan using either the drivers or RivaTuner. The fan runs full blast until I get into Windows and ACPI kicks in and drops the fan speed way down. I know the heat issue will shorten the length of time the GPU will remain viable. This is a work laptop so modifying it physically is kid of out of the question. Software wise, we can do whatever. Thanks for your help!

What chipset do you have Thrux? Are you talking GPU or motherboard. I have a 680i(mother board) chipset an OC'ed the crap out of it only using air cooling.

Yeah it is, it has maps and what not to play on. Its has some game modes that are like counter strike.

I have a set of 5.1 Logitech speakers and absolutely love them. They are THX certified and have great range for movies and games. If it is possible try to get the ones M2 posted, you won't be sorry. I have the earlier model (about 2 years ago), with wireless rear speakers. Edit - Just found them they are Z-5450.

I have a new focus in my life and games don't hold much value to me anymore. They are a good distraction every now and then but that's it.

That's odd. I had this issues when Vista first launched, but it has been fixed for some time now (about a year). I have a XFi Fatailty card.

Video card drivers. ATI Drivers Nvidia Drivers Make sure you know what card you have first.

I'm wondering if the root cause is driver related. You may want to update if you haven't already.

I have a 24" Dell E248WFP and my settings are Red = 90, Green = 92, and Blue = 97. Brightness is 80 and contrast is 50. Give those a shot.
