Hey guys i am building a new computer and I am an amature at this. My first and only PC was this:
Mobo: ?
CPU: P4 1.7Ghz
Case: Dell Deminsion 8100
Memory: RDRAM PC800 384Mb
Hard drive: 40 Gigs
CD-DVD: DVD Burner Lite On DL DRIVE 16X
Floppy: ?
Video Card: GeForce 4 mx
Keyboard and mouse: Default Dell Keyboard and Logitech Cord Ball mouse, model M-S48
Speakers: Altec Lansing 4.1 (but only use 2 of them)
Operating System: MS-WINDOWS XP HOME SP2
Monitor: Viewsonic VX992 19" LCD 2MS
The new system that I have is:
Mobo: ECS KN1 SLI Lite
CPU: AMD X2 4600+ Dual core
Case: ?
Memory: PC 3200 1 GB Dual
PSU: Ultra 500w (I know its cheap.. $10)
Hard drive: 40 Gigs
CD-DVD: DVD Burner Lite On DL DRIVE 16X
Floppy: same one
Video Card: EVGA 7600 gt
Keyboard and mouse: Default Dell Keyboard and Logitech G7 laser mouse
Speakers: Altec Lansing 4.1 (but only use 2 of them)
Operating System: MS-WINDOWS XP HOME SP2
Monitor: Viewsonic VX992 19" LCD 2MS gtg and btw
So, my old case from dell is ATX and the new stuff is atx but because it is dell i need to "jerry" rig the new PSU and back side ports for the motherboard. I dont know anything really about cases or the needs to keep my new hardware cool so any input is important. I just wanted a cheap case that will function, looks are not important. So, any ideas?
Yeah, although the components of my new comp are not the greatest money was the dominent factor and it is light years beyond my RDRAM monstrousity from 2001.
