So are people never going to play on the pub again? Everytime I log on people are playing GO but not on the server unless it is Saturday night...

So how did Pittsburgh get Iginla for two so-so prospects and a late first round pick? I would be really be steaming if I was a Bruins or Flames fan right about now.

Watching LeBron cry about hard fouls and then watch that turd intentionally throw an commit a flagrant foul by throwing an elbow into the screener. He would have been destroyed if he had played in the 80s and 90s by "hard fouls". Even though he is the most gifted athlete to play in the NBA, he sure cries a lot. By rights he should have been ejected for throwing and intentional elbow, that was a "non-basketball" play. The hard fouls he was complaining about were at legit non-flagrant fouls.

Ok I suppose all of you who have played this know this already but for other GO newbs like myself, change your monitor setting to television from computer screen under the visual options under GO and it removes almost all of the shadows if you have your brightness all the way up. Makes a huge difference in any map with dark shadowing.

I thought D17 and D18 were reserved for Lunk and Dr. Doom if they show up...

In unrelated news, everyone ask Woden to come to Fragfest when in the server. He said he is in Michigan, so it is always a possibility.

Ok, I finally caved in and will start playing GO in prep for Fragfest. My question for those of you who have been playing it for a while now is what do you recommmend to change on the settings as far as rates, cmd, updaterate, interps etc? Can you turn dead bodies off like in Source? How do you get your sight to become just a single dot? I have tried some of these commands from source and they must have changed or no longer be an option in GO. As far as my computer/internet, it should be able to run high end performance when it comes to fps and I normally don't have too much internet lag issues.

Ask her if you can celebrate it the weekend before if you aren't busy or perhaps during the week. Of course I am not married, so that makes that suggestion easy for me to say.

Just to let everyone know the Economy Inn said I booked the last two bed room for Friday night. Apparently there is a Toby Keith concert very close and the hotel is booked heavily. Now this may or may not be true, it is just what the hotel told me. I recommend booking your rooms early for FF if this is the case.

Oops. Let me fix that... Also blame Indiana. Not a fan of selling state infrastructure to private companies. Tolls for that Indiana stretch are going to be so ridiculous in a few years. Haven't been on 30 myself but the extra time is the dif. between highway and interstate speeds. Summer driving so no winter problems; always the potential for road construction though. You're in a tough spot. The toll route is easily the fastest and most direct/convenient. Actually Ohio tolls are more than the Indiana ones when I calculated them. Around $9.50 vs. $12.25. Illinois has some small tolls just before the Indiana border but they aren't much. I suppose it comes down to is it worth $22-25 per hour to drive an extra hour each way. Right now I am leaning towards yes it is since that money could go towards the hotel. My only fear is that I have never travelled US 30 and I have travelled I-80 several times.

Well since the forum won't let me start a new thread I will post this here since it has to do with travel. For those familiar with Ohio roads I need some advice. I am planning my route and I can take I-80E across all of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio to FF which is pretty much a straight shot. I have taken this route before and it is easy and overall good roads. However I will end up paying about $50 in round trip tolls, thanks to Indiana and Ohio. I mapped a non-toll route that takes me mainly through US 30 through Indiana and Ohio. In Ohio I then jump on I-71 to I-76 and then on up to route 8. I am not familiar with this route and am hoping people can let me know road conditions and speed limits. The downside is this route says it will add about an hour drive each way but it only adds a total of 25 miles each way to the round trip - less than a gallon of gas total.

Agree And yes if you have the bomb down, please stay with it, and if there are two people don't hold hands, make sure you cover entry points. Here is a standard situation: only one on each side left, CT kills last T - round is over, if the bomb was down T's might win if the last guy stayed alive long enough. And the other way round: CT's managed to intercept the bomb, but T's killed all CT, however it took too long for T's to get the bomb, they simply ran out of time, round is over - CT's win. Killing isn't everything. Don't the T's lose if they run out of time as long as there is a CT alive and how can the T's kill all the CTs and still lose as long as there is time left in a bomb map? Is this different in GO than Source (I haven't played GO since the right before the release)? I am confused by the situation Cat outlined.

All I know is this year I will not be making a run to McDonalds and ordering 50 hamburgers, 20 fries, 20 mcnuggets and 20 other various items at 10pm in the night. You should have seen the look they gave me when I went through the drive up with that order....first time ever seen receipt for over $100 at a McDonalds.

Ok here is a list of games I will bring: Arkham Horror, Fury of Dracula, Talisman, Battlemist, Politika, Cash N' Guns, Shadows Over Camelot, 7 Wonders of the World, Bang!, Pandemic, San Juan, Zombies!!!, Citadels, Red November, Arcana, Colonial Diplomacy and Condottiere. I will also try to pick up Werewolves of Miller's Hollow, which is a simple yet fun game that many people can play (up to 18 or 20 I think). Now there is no way to play all of those games but at least we have choices and several are 4-5 player games so we can have multiple games going at once if the interest is there.

Ok, I will grab some of the games I think will be fun. Wait until you see the game called Cash N' Guns....it is hilarious!

I can bring a significant amount of board games/card games. I own a lot of of them and no they are not monopoly or life variety. Most are mulitplayer strategy games (fantasy flight, avalon hill, etc.) I can post a list if that helps people.
