Most likely not everyone will read this, so everyone please tell other players about these rules when you're on! Will be hard to enforce the 'no looting the fortresses' rule... but since there are new recipes to craft cracked bricks, mossy bricks... it might not be a huge problem. You guys should organize a time to kill the ender dragon--that was a lot of fun to do as a group last time!

Hmm... Perfect Dark Zero was really bad

I've found people lose interest in much less time than a year... it's more like 4-5 months. Restarting with a fresh map from scratch injects a lot of fresh interest for a lot of people. You could keep the old maps backed up on the server, and on request or on special occasions load up old maps in the proper version for people to 'reminisce'. Or like fk said you could use multiverse or an equivalent plugin to keep old maps on there read-only.

Jackie should confirm, but I think we did this because the server crashes much more often with 22/22 players. Could be wrong, though.

Biggest surprise... hmm. The whole Civilization series. Never been disappointed, which surprised me after so many sequels :-) Biggest letdowns... Spore was a huge disappointment for me--SimCity V as well.

I don't use Win8, I use Win7, but many applications let you set 'Default Sound Device' for audio input/output. You should be able to just change your default device on the fly and have it switch over no problem... but some applications don't have the option to specify sound devices. Or it could be a driver issue I guess like Cat is sayin'.
