I'm still looking at the MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 with the FX 8350 processor for my next build. The FX 95** are good, but they run really hot so if you want to overclock then you'll need to liquid cool them. AMD are really pushing their APU processors and there is nothing on the road map on the next gen FX processors, but I think they just haven't announced anything yet. As for video cards I'm looking at the R9 280X, which are just rebranded 7970 Gigahertz editions. If you're not looking at running games at 4K then I would stick to a 270 or 280. S.

Yeah, go for a SSD for your boot/os drive. Also, I would wait for the non-reference 290 cards. The 290's run very hot even though AMD says that is fine. You can mess with custom cooling, but I'd wait to see what the oem's come up with before shelling out extra cash for gpu cooling. Sure, you can clock the card down to operate at a temp you want, but why not get max performance AND cooler core temps without the hassle?! The 280X are out of reference now and are performing very well for the price point. Could always crossfire them down the road too. S.

Holy dust balls, Fenix. Clean that case out! Mine is pretty bad also so I shouldn't be talking. I'm going with the Haf xB case. Really digging the test bench design. Going with the top windowed version and get it powder coated. Plenty of room on the front for the H100i and going to do it in a pull configuration. Right now I'm just going with a cpu cooler and maybe a custom loop in the future. The Haf xB has a decent amount of room, but I've seen a few custom loops done in them with very little tubing and plenty of room at the bottom for more radiators and larger pumps. S.

Yo, So, with my next build I'm going to dive into the world of liquid cooling. I'm most likely going to play it safe with a Corsair H100i for my first attempt, but I want to get some tips from anyone here who have built their own or have any experience. A quick Google search lists a lot of forums and sites and I've bookmarked a few for future reading but if anyone has a trusted source or guild that they would recommend I would appreciate it. S.

Logitech G500. Got it on sale for $29.99. Awesome mouse. I was using the Logitech MX3000 combo for many years, but the mouse died. Considered a lot of options but always came back to the G500. Happen to see it on sale at Newegg and snatched it up. Can't recommend anything from Razer. Had a bad experience with them. I think Logitech makes the best mouse for the buck. Especially if you can get it on sale. S.

I remember seeing this some time ago and thought, "meh" but I revisited the website over the weekend and it looks very interesting. I've been really interested in space sims lately for some reason and if there is some general interest in this I may look into getting a ship. I've also been looking at X Rebirth. Since I'm pretty green to space sims I'd like to venture out. I played Homeworld back in the day and the last one I bought (Sins of a Solar Empire) I enjoyed. S.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about this. I can already just hook my t.v. to my computer to play games on there if I wanted to (which I don't.) 99% of the games I have on my Steam account I play (and would only want to play) with a keyboard and mouse. If the Steam Box were a truly powerful little box and you could upgrade it that would eliminate the need for a gaming PC, which could save me money verses building a gaming PC every 5-6 years or so. Right now there just isn't enough incentive for me to go in that direction. Unless they went and did something silly like make Half Life 3 a Steam Box exclusive. Besides, with my 3 year old son I'm saving the "home console" experience with the Wii U. S.

Yo, Just wondering if anyone has experience with using a SSD as a cache drive paired with a standard HDD. I'm reading that Intel is the way to go and that the third party software and dedicated cache drives are not worth it. I already have a 1 TB drive for my next build but I was leaning towards another AMD build hence the third party stuff since AMD has no SSD cache solution. So, if Intel's solution is worth it I want to look into it. Larger SSD drives are still out of my budget at the moment. Any input will be appreciated. S.

The guys from Penny Arcade sat down and played through the console version up to the Skeleton King on the PS3 version. The video kinda shows that control scheme and gives you a idea of whats going on. S.

Not sure how I feel about this game. I love the depth that it offers, but I'm afraid that it's just going to be a horrific grind. I'll need to do more investigating, but I did enter a contest to win a copy. S.

I started playing again just for fun. I'm using my Monk and cruising on MP3, but I feel I may be able to go a little higher. My monk is only doing 25k but I can usually survive any number of elites. I'm trying to build up my gold to get the higher gear and weapons. Its slow going but it's still holding my interest. S.

I got a copy and I have never played it. I watched a few matches and until you can host your own game or make it invite only or something that can filter out all the 'undesirables' I refuse to try it. I'm seeing the same ugly, disrespect for your fellow gamer in every match that I watch and I don't want to even deal with it. Same reason I don't want to play LoL. Until we can host our own games and have GC admins in control I'm just going to put it on the back burner. If that has changed recently I will definitely start to play.

I'm going through my... 4th play though. Got my soldier to level 61 and just about at the Warrior in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. I'll go through all the DLC again as well. I have some lower level alts that I could level as well. If anyone is at level 50 and in need of some decent weapons I still have a few in my inventory I'll slide anyones way if they need it. I was thinking on upgrading to a GTX 560 Ti on my current computer to replace the Radeon 4850. Don't really want to spend the money on a new computer right now and I thought that the 560 Ti would be the best card for my system. S.

I just got the Rosewill 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset RHTS-8206. These replaced the terrible Razer Carcharias I had. Great sound at a decent price. S.

I just got a 13" Macbook Pro. Mid 2009 model. My boss gave it to me. After ordering the factory DVD from Apple ($18!) I formatted and reinstalled. Some of the things mentioned in this thread I knew about, but I want to be more knowledgeable about Mac's. I plan to use it as my work lappy. I'm going to order more RAM for it and upgrade to Lion. After that I'll be installing all my Adobe programs so I can work on the road or use it when meeting with clients. The most important upgrade though is deciding on what decal I need to put on it. S.
