  1. High risk yields high reward. That holds true in every aspect of the world. I was there was a way to determine the difference between a vanilla pounce and kia pounce in game... High pounces are not inherently high risk however. Booming in that case could be higher risk due to the glass cannon (health wise, not damage obviously) nature of the class. I agree that it would be nice if we could distinguish between the status/animations of the survivor when a pounce occurs it would mean X points provided instead of when they are in normal animation.
  2. How is less points penalizing for damaging/incapping? Damage absolutely should stay where it is. This is specifically the points they receive for the buy system that should be lessened. If lessening those points too much causes survivors to basically ALWAYS make it to the safe room then further balancing of the points is required and perhaps that means on other infected and not just hunters. As others have said it should be difficult to make it to the safe room. If they always make it then this would be a boring game. Noting as well what Carlos mentioned Tanks aren't THAT difficult to get with other infected it just takes a bit longer and typically requires more teamwork to do (spitters need others to hold/stumble them in the spit, boomers help every other class with their setups, smokers need cover and timing, etc...). Dropping the point gain on hunters won't stop people from using it and, nor should it,. it just means that you'll see tanks later on in the maps and it should actually help with better score balance in that regards. You can't take team balance into account when determining the points - teams constantly change and sometimes you get a lot of really good players on 1 team or just those few that work really well together. That has to be handled through player interactions.
  3. Hunter pounce points are disproportionate to every other infected class. Would be no different than Chargers getting something like 10 points for a successful charge or smokers for reeling someone in. Doesn't need to be dropped to nothing, but it should be looked at. Yes people need to look up more and watch for them, but that is not a reason to keep the current allotment for a pounce where it is. They are the only class that can get a tank within 4 successful hits even if they are immediately cleared.
  4. One way to help that is balance the infected out slightly. The current points as an example for hunter pounces are incredibly high, with a 12.5 points (not including damage) for 25 damage pounce is a bit ridiculous. Drop it to 5 points for a 25 damage pounce and you would see less tanks being bought super early in MOST instances. I bet if you trolled the logs you would find most tanks bought by the top hunter pouncers. Not bashing those players at all by the way, they have honed that skill and it can be very difficult to hit some of those pounces, but there are also some maps where it's insanely easy (DA2) and the points just don't balance for them. Would be worth looking at other infected as well to make sure there is balance all around, but typically the others are fairly even from what I can see. Regarding the +/- for losing team, you would really want a base number according to difference in score. The issue with adding multipliers to players is that it gets exponentially more powerful the longer the map goes. Having it check the score constantly to determine when to stop adding the multiplier would be an insane headache and hassle to do. A score check at the start of the round however is much easier.

  7. I think Maestro misinterpreted a comment I made moments ago. We were on second level of No Mercy, just starting and he asked for volunteers to swap to infected (7v4 I think it was). Myself and one other volunteered and then I swapped, while Maestro swapped the other player at the same time. I just checked teams again and saw it was now 4v6 and was about to swap back when Maestro swapped me back. Jokingly, knowing he could hear voice chat, I said "Here I am, trying to be all nice and swap and Maestro has to just bounce me around, like a jerk!". Obviously the comment was not meant to be anything against Maestro and I apologize that it was taken as such. I've nothing but respect for the server admins and members and truly enjoy playing here which is why I since day 1 I've made sure to follow the rules and try to be helpful to new players. @Maestro, I do apologize if the joke/comment did not come across as such, it really was meant in jest and nothing against you personally.
