  1. Love is a verb not a noun: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever Holy Bible : New Living Translation. (Wheaton, Ill.: Tyndale House, 1997). 1 Co 13:3-8a Truth is a noun and can be defined as "A concrete ideal, never changing and solidified in both fact and actuality." King Richard the Lionheart
  2. I wrote a small review on my churches small message board- http://shazbot14000.homelinux.com/Preacher...ewtopic.php?t=6 I don't have the corner on the authenticity, but I have read other writings about how Roman's conducted trials, beatings and incarceration that were written in the same time period as the Gospels. Anyway go look if you wish.
  3. Well after 10 years of marriage I feel I can chime in. I began my marriage with my wife saying things like " I want you to go out with your friends and have fun". I also heard things like "Oh I'm so glad you are going out with so-and-so, you need a break" Well after a short time those lovely "perfect wife" sayings became "Why do you need to spend so much time with so-and-so" and "You're going out again?" Realize that the first year of marriage is like the preview to a movie, it may look like it'll be bliss and packed with greatness, but when you settle into the seat and the preview is now the movie you get to find out how misleading the preview was. No truer statement was ever uttered about marriage than this "A woman gets married expecting the man to be changed by her, and a man gets married expecting her to stay the same." Both get a dose of reality. After 5 years of marriage I finally knew who the heck that crazy broad sleeping next to me really was. lol Don't get me wrong, I have a good marriage and I love my wife dearly, but it is very important to know how much you don't know. Good luck and may God bless your household.
  4. Actually I'm curious about the issue of authentication via internet, is there something that can be done to disable this?
  5. Dear Lord someone help em. He's stuck in that room and can't get out. He only has cigarettes and baked potatos to sustain him.
  6. I'm bringing my washers and my unitard for your enjoyment
  7. Well seeing that the only slavery is now in oppressive cultures like the Sudan, there isn't really much point to this line of questioning. Slavery in our culture is undoubtedly wrong, as was stated previously, slavery was a way of life and often a chosen way of life to pay back debts, live in a wealthy home ect. I personally have never owned a slave or been owned by anyone (shut up) so there isn't much wieght to any argument I have one way or the other. The best thing on this subject was stated above : The Bible just tells people in whatever situation they found themselves in how to serve and please God.
  8. Ok, this is one of the most controversial subjects that effects the church, year after year. I think the Joyce Meyer's series "Freedom Through Submission" was one of the best Biblical interpretations of the subject I have heard to date. I normally find her annoying because she is so "head strong" but in her theology, I have yet to find a flaw. (Theology is how she teaches the Bible and what she expresses as her beliefs) In this series she states that to submit to your "husband" is detrimental, not because it makes it easier with one head of the house, or that it keeps the peace, or that it takes away from you as a woman. Instead God designed man and wife as the perfect symbiotic relationship. The responsibility of the household falls on the man of the house (like dweez stated above) but there needs to be an understanding of what that entails. The best way that I can explain it is like a store owner(husband) and a store manager(wife). The owner is effected by every decision made by the manager, but if it's a bad decision then the owner pays for it. Likewise good decisions reward the owner. A good store owner is involved with all major decisions, but doesn't sit around and bark orders. There are lots of examples in scripture where a woman is in charge of things. Paul praises women prophetesses and teachers and the whole tribe of Israel was saved on several occasions, do to women. The "place" of the woman in the home is like the place of the salt shaker next to the pepper. Man shouldn't Lord over his wife anymore than a wife should Lord over her husband. The fact of the matter is, at least in my marriage, that without the help of the wife many decisions cannot be made at all, or would be made poorly. The womans liberation and sexual freedom movements have done almost nothing for women. They now have families that are deprived of a mother and divorce rates that are out of control. Women aren't happy and they aren't going to be as long as they stray from God's design. Paul said Man should love his wife as Christ loves the church and women should submit to thier husbands as they submit to God. God never asks us to do anything wrong and Jesus wants only what is best for the church. If this model is followed, then the marriage will last and happiness will be found. I've been married a while (just celebrated my 10th anniversary) and boy have we gone through it. At times it seamed very reasonable to split up, at others it seamed like the only option. I dealt with my wife's alcoholism and other addictions. It was really hard, but by weathering the storms we are a much stronger couple now. I'm not saying I know all the answers, but I've learned a few through experience. Well God bless
  9. Yeah, I've been around since the good old days of goop, most of the oldies remember me. But thanks for the welcome. Not sure I can respect someone who could give up the game lol
  10. Anyone ever heard of the "Jetway" brand? http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_info.ph...roducts_id=3014 I was reading about it and it got pretty good reviews, but because I never heard the brand name before....
  11. Only thing about the 45g system is that it doesnt have on-board video, I know it has a stigma for not being good, but on these xpc systems it handles really well. That and I'm not gonna have the cash for the video card I want. lol
  12. Lucky is the world’s way of discounting miracles. Remember that the next time you say "Hey that was sure lucky" The whole world is filled with God's handywork; we just fail to recognize it. With eyes wide open and unobscured by preconceptions you can see miracles every day.
  13. nothing personal but that's a wierd looking chick

  17. Seek God for comfort, because man has no words that can help. Pray, because talking it out brings you to the same place. Above all realize the important of the impact of thier life on you, and forget the uselessness of thier death. Be a pillar of strength for your parents and siblings, even when you feel like your going to fall apart. I will have my church pray for you and your family and I will intercede as well. Numbers 6:24 May The LORD bless you, and keep you; 25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you.
