    If you're talkin HL2 mapping, it is right under your nose on the games list on steam. Source SDK has the hammer map editor and some other goodies for HL2 development thingers.

    Try setting the process priorty to low. I think that's what my brother and I did to fix some of the choppiness. I believe it was posted on the official site or some official forums. I'm not sure about with the patch, but prepatch it worked great for us.

    It's about 5 megs right now. If you mean by unit size, its about the size of the horseshoe area around bomb site A on aztec.

    It does it either way. Once I shut down the vvis.exe running it continued on to vrad.exe and then starts up the game if I have set to run the game after compile.
