  3. The point still stands. If anything, with 32 players, I'd make it longer. Objectives are nearly impossible to complete anymore. -hC
  4. That's fine if you have like 6 servers, to dedicate one to a three-map rotation, but most of us are finding the same 6 maps even quite redundant. As for respawns, that's exactly how Dustbowl is. 0-5 seconds for blu, 10-20 for red. That's not special, it's default. And it should be that way. TF is such a successful game because it mixes very well strategy and tactics with twitch play and fiery explosive death. I personally play it for the former, you obviously play for the latter. Zero respawn tunes the game entirely towards the latter. We've already bumped the player count by 33%. There's no way I'm going to drop respawn in an already-oversaturated server. I think maybe HLDM is more your style. You'll find it much easier to just play the game that's right for you than try to wedge some other game into a play format it was never intended to support. -hC
  5. Yeah, I did the same. It's like that in the server configs now. Makes no sense whatsoever. Stalemate disabled should mean Sudden Death on. -hC
  6. It will do what I want--I broke down and added that line to the bottom of the mani_server.cfg. No matter which of the ones loads in any order, the defaults.cfg will always run after mani_server.cfg. If it re-executes mani_server.cfg sometime after, it will still exec defaults.cfg as the last command. -hC
  7. I'll set defaults.cfg to be sourced at the end of mani_server.cfg, then. That's really non-intuitive, since the vars include ordinals in their name. Didn't realize we relied on this for all reserve slots. I'll fix this. -hC
  8. No, that was his grenade (similar to the MIRV grenade in TFC). In beta, every class had unique grenade weapons, but late in the development cycle, they took them out. I believe there's a few commentary nodes on the issue. -hC
  9. I had a hunch that mani reserves weren't working properly. I'm going to see what I can do with SourceMod, and use a local sed script for now to translate the mani config to a SM reserve list. I'll have to update the list manually when new reserves are added, but for now, I think I can live with that. I'll keep you updated on my progress. -hC
  10. I still don't understand Sudden Death. All indications are that it's on (check mp_stalemate_enable). Even within the same map, different rounds will end up with sudden death and others with stalemates. As for traffic, I haven't been seeding every day like normal. I'll get back to that, but we really need others to help. I can't be online every day sitting there by myself. Additionally, I'm working locally with adding SourceMod, which will let me write some custom scripts. Until I have some scripts ready, though, there's no reason to put it on the server. I'm still learning about the language, and I hope to be able to work on that this weekend. When I figure things out and have it running, I'm going to post a requests thread where you guys can make suggestions (like the special sudden death rules) for me to script. -hC
  11. Thing is, the original Well WAS a CTF map. The one released with TF2 was CP, but lots preferred it as a CTF map. So it's actually the CP one that's the variation. Third-party maps would usually fill the gaps in map variety, and there are some truly fantastic ones that I'd love to get in the rotation. Unfortunately, they tend to cut the server population in half for no good reason (see what happened with cp_labor), so it's not really feasible to run them on a regular basis. >8\ -hC
  12. You're not impressed with anything... That said, I agree. The last thing the official map line-up needed was another big map. It desperately needed another CTF, but Well in that format is huge. I'm probably going to take it back out, if there are no objections. -hC
  13. Server was de-listed after the patch. I just now realized, which is why we've been sparse the last few days. Things should be back to normal, now, so let's get this party (re-)started! -hC
  14. That's birthday mode. If you set your server to no blood and set tf_birthday to 1, you get that. -hC
