From Slickdeals After you've purchased it, to get the Steam activation code, you need to install BestBuy's download app. See the following reply taken from the above thread: Best Buy has their own Steam-like client called PC App. After you make the order, they ask you to install their client. You then log in to the client and then download your game. More information can be found here [bestbuy.com] and here [bestbuy.com]. Now, I don't want to install Best Buy's software just to get one game . So I did a forum search on their support board, and apparently you can just take the CD key from the PC App software and activate it on Steam. You still have to install PC App though . The thread I'm referring to is here [bestbuy.com]. I don't understand why retailers have to invest time and money in developing their own content distribution software when Steam does the job nicely...
