Ok, so this is with a new game and a new dvd drive! Now it is telling me HL21.cab is corrupt! I was having this same problem when attempting to install Far Cry and Red Alert 2, which both use .cab files before when I had a different DVD rom. I switched to my old cd-rw drive from an old compaq, and that worked to install both games. I rma'ed my drive back to newegg for my current drive. Not even a week ago, I installed Far Cry and Red Alert 2 with my new DVD-rw drive with NO PROBLEMS what so ever. Now with HL2 it is back to telling me that the .cab files are corrupted! GRRR!! note that I know about the issue with only installing HL2 and not CS:S. I am, of course, trying to install both and it is still giving me the Error 1335 message! Anyone have any clue what could be going on here? Why would the drive work one week, then not work the next?

Is there a multiplayer for HL2 like the original?? If there is, is it any good? I only played the HL multiplayer a few times because CS was so much better..

I've already seen some pretty cool star wars mods, but what I'd really like to see is a Co-Op single player mod.. I was hoping this sort of thing would be in game, I'd love to be able to play with my girlfriend instead of both of us playing seperatly, I end up spoiling things for her... I had it all planned out. After newegg botched my order for my new vidcard, I desperately ordered it from outpost and saved some money. It was going to be close, card was ordered Saturday so with next day delivery (guaranteed by noon) it would be waiting for me when I got home from work. My one worry was that outpost might not get it sent Monday due to weekend sales. I anxiously watch the order all day Monday. No action. Still says 'In Process'. But about 5 PM on my order list is says 'fulfilled' which means it shipped. But when I click on the order it still says 'In Process'. Im not to worried. Figured they are just slow updating their system. They have shipped everything I have ordered from them in a very timely manner. But when I go to bed no change. Still hoping... Get up at 5AM and check it out before work. It shipped!!! At 3PM precisely. So I go to work feeling confident that it will be waiting for me when I get home. No package when I get home. Not too bothered, figure it will arrive shortly. Check the tracking and it arrived at sort facility at 10:30 AM. Plenty of time to get it here today. But as 2PM slowly reaches 5PM I get pretty frustrated. Nothing. Try to occupy myself with stuff but thinking about all you guys playing HL2 makes it hard. Finally just now I'm really tinkled that it never showed. Paid the extra dough to get it in time for the 'big day' and they drop the ball. I mean we have waited for HL2 for five years. Remember finishing HL and thinking 'can't wait until the sequal'.... So I call up DHL. They are very sorry. I agree. They say they will deliver it first thing in the morning (first off the truck). I say 'thanks' /sarcasm. I ask for a refund of my money which they guarantee. They say that I will have to contact outpost and have them get it. bah. Sent outpost an email. Well I guess life goes on

I can't connect to STEAM. Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem?

So, I thought maybe I might be using the wrong password to sign into STEAM. I decided to see if I could retrieve my account information. I typed in my account login name, STEAM started searching and came back with: "That account cannot be found" I'm hoping they are just having an issue with their servers and they haven't lost my account.

To play HL2 when it is released? I am still debating, I will hate myself at work if I do but it will most definately be worth it. However the servers will probably be hammered right at the get go so maybe I should go to bed now and get up at 4 or 5 and get a couple hours in before work. Decisions are tough imo.

Anyone know what all the retail copy comes with? Does it indeed include HL:Source? I am assuming it does include CS:source, but are there any other source based games with it (such as DOD)?

I had to replace my wireless router today because it nerfed on me. I've just finished installing a Linksys Wireless Router w/4 port switch. It's the wireless G one. And Now I can't connect to STEAM. I went to the website and I've opened the ports on this router that they suggested. No Luck. I'm gonna try and connect directly to my dsl modem to see if it will work. At least that will let me know wether it's my new router or if it's steams fault. Anyways if this does work. I will need ideas from you guys that have the same router.

I'm currenty at like 44%, how long did it take you to grab the complete install. For some reason I thought I was at 100%. oops :[

All I have to say is WOW. So far this has been the best game I've ever played.

Ok, I got to the point where the guard asks you to pick up the can. At which time it tells you to hit mouse1 to throw object. So, I throw it and hit the guard in the forehead with it. Needless to say he didn't like hit. He hit me with his baton. ouch! Now, I'm outside and have no idea what to do. Also, I'm getting about 30-50 fps playing.

i'm having trouble installing hl2..it wont let me change the path.. anyone have any ideas or anything. its weird if they wont let you pick the install path.. i have more than enough room, just not on the C drive. got a ton of free space on other drives.

So is it really out in stores this weekend?? If so, I may have to beg and plead to drop the $50 ($50?? I remember when $30 was a lot for new games, geez)! Better yet, I will go get it tonight!

Well, i busted my butt all day at work, and I work at wal-mart... after pulling half-life 2 to the sales floor i went home excited waiting to load up half-life that I got with my steam coupon... and its not loading... WHY?

Best Buy has the game for sale as $54.99. NewEgg has it for $49.99! AND FREE SHIPPING!

Didn't read any just looked at the scores. Gamespot 9.2 IGN 9.7 Gamespy was spose to have theirs up by 3:00 but its still not there.

Can't wait! Hopefully the new vid card will be here (BFG 6800 OC) and I can do a reformat on Tuesday. But I can't take the day off Plus I have church that night (can't frown about that one) So I am going to hit it hard Thursday afternoon and then I have Friday off!! woot woot. But... I can't finish the game in two days. Not after waiting 5 years! Gonna have to pace it out a bit.
