Topic title says it all--difficulty upped to normal. I actually changed this a couple days ago, sorry that I didn't announce it earlier If you're wondering what that means exactly, check the wiki page here about game difficulty. No, zombies cannot break doors, except on hard.

Hey guys With a little help from my friends (Crasx and Baloosh) i've put a 'fence' around a huge plot of land on the server to play some hunger games! Everything is in place: chests to put your stuff in, starting spots, a cornucopia etc. All we need now is a time. How long one game takes is up to the survivors. If we have about five players (not including myself) we can try it. Who would be up for it? Edit: before i forget: the prize is a lvl 30 enchanted diamond pick...

My youngest kids (8 & 9) really enjoy playing minecraft, and they have been begging to be allowed to join multiplayer servers. I was wondering if anyone would be around tonight (4/05) or tomorrow (4/06) to help them claim some land and show them what the commands are and such. Let me know, thanks. Shaftiel P.s. Well, just last night we actually had 10 players on the server. Honestly the server has not seen this much traffic ever (as far as I'm aware). I changed the server properties to allow 20 players onto the server now--hopefully this will not create errors/crashes. We shall see. I love that lots of people are on, it's great stuff!! Check it out, the server has its first beacon ever, thanks to a combined effort to kill a Wither today! Since one of the effects that beacons can produce is 'jump boost', I'm building up a huge jump puzzle tower that climbs in a spiral around the beacon. Got it up to y=98 right now, but I'm planning to have it go all the way to the build limit of y=255.

I was playing on the server with Biggs. We were exploring old mine shafts. After he left i decided to get out there by digging my way out. I fell down and died. When I came back to the place where i died... EVERYTHING WAS GONE! E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-Y-N-G I-S G-O-N-E!!!

Working on a wool farm, didn't want those pesky sheep wandering. Not sure if I need to turn myself in to the authorities... Also, 1.5 has been released (BIG update called the 'Redstone' Update). Tons of new stuff I'm looking forward to, but it will likely be a little bit before bukkit catches up with the release. So for now, our server is still on 1.4.7

Hey guys i made a huge maze in minecraft which you can solve by answering questions. I put a lot of work into it, so i'd really appreciate it if a lot of our minecraft-playing GC members would go check it out and post here what they thought about it (the maze itself, but also the questions accompanying it. Dunno who you are on forums or forgot so...How did u claim that npc village near my house, i claimed half of it and accidentally unclaimed my house then was gonna go claim it again but then you already took it? no one is on the server right now [11:51 PM 2/18/13]>.< so it must have happened before I went back to the village and before I accidentally unclaimed my house area. Or was there something added that I can't claim npc village and that's admin or something...sadface.jpg

What do you guys think of adding some or all mods in the Feed the Beast mod pack? This would add a huge amount of new components/mechanisms for us to build stuff. Server is back up, has the same world on it as last time. Server address: gcminecraft.game.nfoservers.com:25565 Dynmap address: http://gcminecraft.g...rvers.com:8123/ I tried copying and pasting areas into a new world, but it was literally very rough around the edges. Plus, I don't really know everyone that wanted stuff moved over other than Dragonfire and Hailfire, so I decided to just keep the old map. It's currently whitelisted... I've added as many player names as I recognized from the server's player data, so if you're unable to join the server... reply to this thread with your minecraft name and we'll add you to the whitelist. I've put the CoreProtect plugin on there which Valen has suggested, so it may be that we don't really need the whitelist... we'll see. Everyone who had admin on the old server still has it, and is already whitelisted. Admins, you can also whitelist player names from in-game, the command is /whitelist add . *UPDATE* New map; dumped whitelist because we had low traffic.

Here is a good reason to claim your land on the Minecraft server. Jamman78 started to go through peoples chests and take peoples unclaimed valuables; diamonds, potions, armor and tools/weapons. I knew he hadn't started mining yet so the jig was up when he giggled about now having so many diamonds. He has since been banned. Looks like he triggered some creeper explosions too.

Biggs griefed the Minecrafts! I demand justice!!

1) CoreProtect is out. It's a passive mod and requires people to interact with it to roll back stuff. Not prevent. So... 2) Welcome Grief Prevention. This is 15 minutes long but worth every minute. Land claims with full protection, can allow others to mod stuff on your property, land not claimed can be repaired with no need for world logs, stuff not land claimed still gets grief protection... That will need to be manually updated for regs to give them a ton of space to claim land (might be a command in game for ops to do that as well). Otherwise time on server grants more claimable land. Idle won't do it - active time on server. 3) Tried giving you all backpacks. Not working with the bleeding build of Bukkit. Later... 4) Giant Caves. The underground got cooler. 5) There is also a real ultra small player logger running that records chat and block place/destroy just so we have something to reference for banning for the dicks of the world who still make a mess for us to clean up. BTW, the land claims you make with Grief Protection? There's a DynMap mod for that. Should (I think) be able to configure that to display on on certain zoom levels. Right now, you can see the claim no matter what zoom level you are at.

World protect will need to get better, or updated or something. Testing the forums dynmap page that is forthcoming with the imminent upgrade and saw two names I never saw before, popped in to observe, got killed repeatedly by them and then watched them have fun with dynamite near spawn. So... I rolled back an hour or so, should be coming back up now-ish, and those guys are banned. I'll pull the logs and restore to prior when they joined, I just grabbed one hour back to start. Your criminals: EDIT: Err, maybe not. Server log got wiped with restoring the backup. My bad. Have a backup from Friday evening. Post up if needed. Oh, and dynmap is working but empty...

Just saw this come across the steam store, and I did a double-take: Ace of Spades Being a Minecraft devotee, this seems relevant to my interests. It looks like an absolute blast to play with a fun-loving-community type group. What does everyone else think? If it's as fun as it looks, I could potentially see a small GC server (a la our Minecraft server) formed for this.

This is the latest bukkit avail. Should be better than R01 which was technically pulled due to bugs.
