    Lotro

Lord of the rings online. Tirtul and I have played it off and on for the last 7 and 9 years. It's free to play, but you can get VIP or turbine points (you can earn these as well) to buy expansions and stuff. VIP just unlocks a lot of it. It's a lot of fun. There's pve and pvmp (player vs monster player). There's a lot to do, a lot of cool classes, rideable horses and goats, and later in-game there's mounted combat. They have epic battles and skirmishes. You can also own a house and get trophies and decorations. If anyone is interested let me know. Leveling is super easy, and hobnanigians and the anniversary are going on right now as well. The creep side is fun if you want to play as a warg spider warleader defiler or reaver.
  6. Yo, Anyone interested in Black Desert? I've been watching some videos and it looks really interesting. Labeled as a "sandbox mmo" it has a lot of content to keep busy. If there are a number of people interested I'll jump in and we can all start on the same server or whatnot. S.

    DarkFall Online

Greetings Darkfallers! Today we are happy to officially announce Darkfall Unholy Wars! Athens, Greece – September 18th, 2012 – Prepare yourself and your allies. We at Aventurine are proud and excited to announce the release of Darkfall Unholy Wars! Unholy Wars delivers the fast paced, full loot player vs. player action, and the brutal, persistent clan warfare we are famous for, to a new legion of highly skilled gamers. Countless centuries have passed and the brutal, fantasy world of Agon has changed; the war-torn races face their grimmest hour yet. Trapped for countless centuries between the hateful wrath of a long forgotten power and the dark machinations of the Demon Lords, Agon stands on the brink of devastation. The time for the mortals to reclaim their own is at hand. Now must they carve their names in legend, demand dominion, and declare Unholy War! An MMO like no other, Darkfall Unholy Wars relies as much on your skill as on the choices you make. An all new user interface, built for lightning fast combat, and unique amongst MMOs, connects you to magic or melee like never before. There is no tab-targeting -battles happen in real-time- blade and spell-fests where dice-rolls are replaced by your own cunning and guile. From heroes and warlords who have mastered many of Agon’s combat schools to the opportunistic mercenary specialists, selling their sword or spell to the clans for a handful of gold or the thrill of a kill, all can be equally deadly in Agon – if they have the skill. With clan warfare at the heart of every design decision, Unholy Wars calls you to build towering bases of power, conquer rival clan cities, engage in epic land and naval battles and seize control over holdings and territories as you forge your empire. Our role and school system brings tactics and teamwork to epic clan warfare like never before, allowing you to choose between the flexibility of multiple specializations or the focus of just one. Become the sharpest skirmisher in your clan, unbeatable with bow and shadow, or train a number of roles, wielding steel and plate knee deep in battlefield blood one day, then scorching your enemies with elemental magecraft from the walls of your clan city the next. The re-forged world of Agon comes alive with new dynamic lighting and epic scores from a haunting soundtrack. A stunning animation system and environmental audio immerse you in the visceral combat or nail-biting exploration of an unforgiving world. Zad Mehdawi, CEO of Aventurine stated: “We’re very proud of what we have accomplished in just two years of development. We want to consistently deliver the ultimate MMO experience to our players, and to outdo ourselves, we had to rethink Darkfall to create Darkfall Unholy Wars. We hope the players will be as excited as we are with the result.” Tasos Flambouras, General Manager of Aventurine, commented, “Using our experience, player feedback, and lessons learned from Darkfall Online, we made Unholy Wars for the people who love the original Darkfall, but also for those who were hesitant to try it, even for those who loved the concept but not the game itself.” With two months to go, there is just enough time for you to hone your mindset, forge your alliances and prepare to fuel your adrenalin with Darkfall Unholy Wars! Darkfall Unholy Wars will be available for PC, via digital download, on November 20, 2012. Visit the official site ( www.darkfallonline.com/uw) for more information. You can also follow us in Facebook (www.facebook.com/darkfallonline) and Twitter ( http://twitter.com/DarkfallMMORPG). SMITE

SOOO I don't know if you guys know about SMITE. If you don't i think you are missing out! SMITE is awesome. Here is a link(http://www.hirezstudios.com/smitegame/home) to they're page and a summary of the game, as well as a link to they'er youtube god reveal playlist (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3ECFAD58A08BF6D0). SMITE is the online battleground of the gods. Players choose from a diverse cast of deities and use their unique powers to triumph over the opposition in 5v5 team matches. SMITE is a new take on the MOBA genre; rather than observing from above the action, the game’s third person perspective puts players into the thick of combat. Instead of clicking the mouse to move, players use the familiar WASD keys to move and fight their way through SMITE’s dynamic battlegrounds. So i have played a lot of this and i think some of you will like it. The god spectrum goes from Mayan to Hindu to Greek and Chinese. With some other religions (yes they have Norse to). I have already started a GC clan on there for anyone that wants to join. The clan is called GCFTW. My username is brohamMC, and i will accept any and all invitations tell me if your GC though so i can add you to the clan. Now go out and embark on the battle of your lives!
  14. I think everyone, except Square Enix saw this coming when the game broke the world record for most concurrent users in a beta: http://www.gamingrea...orn-breaks.html Now, they've broken the record for the most sales in an MMO at launch, which has resulted in digital game sales being suspended: http://na.finalfanta...d1308da98f95947 I, myself, was outraged when I was dumb enough to log out when I went to bed and couldn't log in during the next day; I've simply resorted to logging in late at night, where there's still a login queue, but I can at least get in. I'm still upset, but I'll be honest here; I don't think anyone expected the game to do this well, let alone break records. Square is working head over heels to fix the problem, and while I do recommend everyone to grab a copy of the game, I'm saying wait until next week when the data centers are upgraded. How many people are logging in, you say? Last night around 11pm, they opened a new world on the NA/EU side called Siren. About 5 minutes later, the world was full. Ten minutes later, Square locked the world for character creation. They've been adding new worlds to try to keep up, but aren't able to. Ultimately, their goal is to increase the amount of concurrent players that can be logged into each server at any given time. Yoshi-P explained the game engine uses what they call their "mega shard" system, which uses multiple servers to present as one giant server, allowing a larger than previously possible amount of players to play concurrently on a server. I'll post a screenshot of one of the major cities later tonight on the Excalibur server (the server has a 10 hour wait for connections right now, so I don't bother attempting to connect until around 12am EST, at which point there is no line) and show you the number of players in that one specific area.

  17. Hey everyone. Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn releases officially on August 27, 2013. Early access for anyone who preorders the game before that date starts a few days earlier. I've had the privilege to play since Phase 1 of the beta, and have seen a lot of changes, and instead of going into detail about it, I'm just going to link the changes made straight from the beta forum, since the NDA was lifted a while a go. First off, I just want to say that this game features an overwhelming amount of content. There is a PvP system, but they've opted to hold off on implementing it until v2.1 (the first patch) along with housing; yes, you can own a house, or if your guild (linkshell, free company, etc.) feels so inclined, can own a town, or guild houses, or a giant guild house if you like that sort of thing. First, here's a link to their site for anyone who is interested in buying the game: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/ Don't worry, by the way. If you don't think your PC can handle it, the game is available on the PS3 as well. Cross-platform, of course. You can also download the benchmark tool, here: http://na.finalfanta....com/benchmark/ Also, you might want to watch the 3-part video showing both the PC and PS3 versions. I'm linking to the third part, which was done on 7/4/2013. Each of the 3 videos showcases different areas of the game, and there are a lot of them. Hundreds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0w5dyfENwA What classes will be available at launch? Disciples of War and Magic fulfill the combat class roles. Disciples of the Land fulfill the field-work class roles. Disciples of the Hand are the crafting classes in the game. Job Roles require other requirements to unlock. An example is the Dragoon, which requires you to have Lancer Lv.30 and Pugilist Lv.15, at which point you unlock the quest chain to obtain the Dragoon job. Disciples of War Gladiator Pugilist Marauder Lancer Archer Disciples of Magic Conjurer Thaumaturge Arcanist Disciples of the Land Miner Botanist Fisher Disciples of the Hand Carpenter Blacksmith Armorer Goldsmith Leatherworker Weaver Alchemist Culinarian Job Roles Paladin Monk Warrior Dragoon Bard White Mage Black Mage Summoner Aside from listing the roles a player can fulfill in the game, the rest would take hours, and many, many pages to link it all. When I first bought v1.0, I was seriously upset with the lack of... everything. However, with the release of ARR coming out, I have to honestly say that I'm flabberghasted at how much content has been stuffed into the remake. If anyone decides to give it a try, you can find me on the Excalibur legacy server (where non legacy players will be able to create characters starting in early access. I really haven't found anything since phase 4 that I could complain about, legitimately... but end game (Lv.50) "raid" content is not available at launch, and neither is PvP. World bosses will be available, with three difficulty modes: Normal, Hard, and Extreme, with regards to both casual, hardcore, and every player in between. PvP content and the housing system will be released in v2.1 (the first official patch) as Yoshida wants to make sure everything is down-right perfect, first (i.e. it isn't in a state where they are ready to release this content.) End game raiding is in v2.1 or v2.2 (I forget, sorry!) However, they said the reason for this is further testing / balancing, and to make sure non-legacy players have a chance to get to Lv.50, first. Also, with the crazy amount of content, I don't think it'll be an issue for most players. Don't forget about chocobos, either. Oh, yeah, you can name your chocobo, he/she can join you in combat, and at some point, they've promised breeding / races / etc., which were all classic features in FF7. TLDR; watch the video, buy the game (it's 29.99 on pc, 39.99 on ps3). The subscription information is here: http://www.ffxivinfo.com/service.php They key idea is if you don't plan on having mules, you'll only care about the 12.99 plan, instead of the standard 14.99 we see in MMOs these days. This is because in FF14ARR, your one character can be every class. Change your weapon, and go. Also, You can save gear sets. Seriously. "Hey, I want to switch back to my CNJ. *Open Gear Sets, Load Set.* It's as simple as clicking a button when you want to save/load, and your inventory is 100 slots, to make sure you always have the room to carry gear for multiple roles. Actually, here's a video that'll sell it better than I can. Chocobo battles. CHOCOBO BATTLES!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2nfLWxYin4 Also, because some people might ask, I found this to be a pretty good comparison video...
  18. Anyone interested in playing this when it's released in the US? I've played PSO on the Dreamcast and loved it. S.
  19. This is just one episode of fails of the week. A lot of people have started playing but very few people actually know this. Yet it's so funny, i've cried from laughter many times watching this. I've put up the latest one in the season and it's a good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J3lIG7axJA&list=TLa0MbK5nah40

    Marvel Hero's

I played this last weekends open beta for Marvel Heroes. It wasn't bad. Looks to be a decent dungeon crawler. Played Iron Man and downed the first 4 "bosses." Anyone else play or interested in playing? S.
  22. Massive 2,800+ player battle in EVE Online took place today. Here's what that looks like... Why can't other MMOs support battles at this scale... I know GW2 could only support a couple hundred players at a time

    TES online

Anyone thinking about the Elder Scrolls online? I personally never played MMOs, but I loved Morrowind and Skyrim, so I'm thinking about this one... The beta sign-up launched today. http://elderscrollsonline.com/en
  24. Hey everyone. If you're a final fantasy like me, and were disappointed in the first attempt at final fantasy 14, you need to check out the remake they're working on. They've redeveloped everything from scratch on a brand new engine. They have numerous videos up: They've pretty much done everything the community requested, and I honestly think it's going to make an amazing come back. If you're skeptical, sign up for the beta. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ Also, if you are a legacy player like myself, you are automatically in the beta: In preparation for the upcoming launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn on Windows PC and PlayStation 3, we are looking for enthusiastic players to take part in the beta test. Players who met the Legacy campaign requirements can participate in the beta test starting from phase 1 and are not required to apply. However, we ask players who wish to participate in the PlayStation 3 beta test to apply for it. If you applied to be a PlayStation 3 beta tester for FFXIV Version 1.0 and were selected to test the Windows version instead, you need not apply again to test the PS3 version—your original application will be reconsidered when we start selecting PS3 testers. However, if you wish to be considered as a Windows PC tester, we ask that you apply specifically for that.
