bear^ January 26, 2005 Share bear^ Member January 26, 2005 i dunno about that pic i've seen lots of videos... n those looked no where near as huge as this wave...
Batman January 26, 2005 Share Batman Member January 26, 2005 Judging by how far the water came into shore in the satelite photos ive seen, id believe this pic.. But something about it just doesnt look right, i know we are really very small compaired to the ocean but it just looks like a small wave put into the pic and made bigger.. The bottom wave looks very real.. I couldnt imagine driving down the road into that..

Ice_Berge_00 January 26, 2005 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni January 26, 2005 Yeah I'm about 99.99999999999999999999999999999% sure it's fake. The wave looks like it's been blown up, and somehow I don't think the tsunamai produced at waves that were as tall as that oh... sckyscraper. Even if it did, I don't think the cameraman would've survived
White Knight January 26, 2005 Share White Knight Member January 26, 2005 Its definately a Photoshop. I can look at it and tell. Thanks for finding a explanation San.
Bubblegum Bandit January 26, 2005 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member January 26, 2005 If you compare the height of the buildings with the height of the wave that wave would have to be like 200+ feet tall.

Zeabos January 27, 2005 Share Zeabos Member January 27, 2005 the actual wave wasnt that large. It was smaller than many waves that surfers consistently ride, but it was traveling EXTREMELY fast, and a huge amount of water followed it inland. It was the massive flooding that did all the damage, not the wave.

Flitterkill January 29, 2005 Share Flitterkill GC Board Member January 29, 2005 Ladies and gentlemen (How many ladies are in GC btw?) snopes.com is your friend. Fake (if your eyes didn't tell you that right away) http://www.snopes.com/photos/tsunami/tsunami2.asp "As the operator of the World City Photo Archive helpfully informed us, this image is actually a manipulated depiction of the skyline of Antoragasta, Chile" -Fk
