Brillow_Head September 5, 2005 Share Brillow_Head Member September 5, 2005 I'm rather suprised how fast the years have gone by. I was skipping my morning class when I roommate pounded on my door screaming "a plane just crashed into the WTC building." Sure I thought it was bad news, but didn't sink in as I floated back to sleep. BANG BANG, "Another one just flew right into the second tower!!!." At this point I was wide awake and packing my millitary uniforms in my bag, waiting on a phone call. That was almost 4 years ago. wow.... wayfarer September 5, 2005 Share wayfarer Member September 5, 2005 I remember like it was yesterday. I was at work busily running around the office with my usual routine. One of my coworkers sprang up & said "a plane has just hit the world trade center!" My first thought was an accident, something went horribly wrong. Actually my first thought was it was a cessna. Then a couple minutes later she pipes up again, " another plane just hit the world trade center!" At this point I knew....like everyone who did not have a TV but was getting thier information by word of mouth. Those dreaded words...."another plane has hit the world trade center!" At that point EVERYONE knew it was no accident. I did not see any footage until I got home around 6:00pm that night. I watched in horror as those buildings came down with all those people in them. The next few days were very erie as I work right underneath a flight path for Pearson International Airport (Toronto) Every year I still get that erie feeling back again. The way the sunlight feels during early September. I was not there. Those events did not really affect me. But I cried for the next three evenings while watching the news. Maybe 9/11 did affect me. *BiGBonES** September 11, 2005 Share *BiGBonES** Member September 11, 2005 Why wern't the servers shut down today? I thought that was part of gc's policy? I'm listening to enya, having a 4minute silence to give some respect for the people that have died. I was in school in a physics lesson at the time, and I didnt have a clue what the world trade centres were. I went home and watched the news for 6 hours solid, amazed by the pictures that I saw. Rest in peace to all of those who died, and don't worry, we'll never stop the fight against terrorism, we will avenge you, no matter how long it takes! Mossad September 12, 2005 Share Mossad Member September 12, 2005 I was just getting out of class at SIU and I heard on a "shock jocks" radio program what had just happened w/ the first plane hitting the wtc, at first I thought it was a big joke cause most the crap they say on those stations is bs. I finish my drive home and got there just in time to see the 2nd plane hit the wtc, that was one hell of day.
Allanon April 10, 2006 Share Allanon Member April 10, 2006 I know this is coming on April now, but wanted to just pay my respects. Didn't know what this forum was for... I was in 6th grade, I remember having my first Cross country meet cancelled and, having no idea why, was excited. After seeing the pictures I was in disbelief, but the kind when you're younger that's more confusion then actual sadness... I know many who are in the armed forces over in Iraq now, keeping our land free, so though it's been 6 months, HOOAH!!!
