anonymo June 16, 2006 Share anonymo June 16, 2006 I think I heard a rumour that Mav is supplying a projector or two and possibly a screen...if not I'll look into maybe bringing one of mine down if the hotel can supply a screen and cable box
Chief June 16, 2006 Share Chief June 16, 2006 We'll need to be able to buy Pay-per-view on the box. The hotel will have a proprietary cable system, so normal PPV won't be available (95% sure anyway). It'll have to be a bar or home.
MrDuke June 16, 2006 Share MrDuke June 16, 2006 That's what I was thinking. Maybe let the hotel know ahead of time and work out a deal to watch it in the bar.
Batman June 16, 2006 Share Batman June 16, 2006 My Direct TV lets me buy in advance and then TiVO it when it comes on..
Bubblegum Bandit June 16, 2006 Share Bubblegum Bandit June 16, 2006 If I remember correctly, I believe there will be three projectors and screens this year, at a minimum there will be two like last year. If it is a possibility to watch on one of those, maybe we could throw it on the screen in the hospitality room?
Mossad June 16, 2006 Author Share Mossad June 16, 2006 yeah I know I can tivo and pay for it, but I was thinking this could also be a fun event for every one there.
Rashad June 17, 2006 Share Rashad June 17, 2006 Is there just going to be one fight? I ask, because sometimes they don't last very long.
Chief June 17, 2006 Share Chief June 17, 2006 There are several fights, typically the broadcast runs from 10 - 1 EST. UFC 61 is being pay per viewed over the internet for the first time for this fight: http://video.ufc.com/content.aspx?cid=8959&bhcp=1 general UFC 61 stuff: http://wwworigin.ufc.tv/ufc61/
MrDuke June 17, 2006 Share MrDuke June 17, 2006 As I understand things, we have internet access via teh hotel. Is the PPV charge to get the internet feed? Maybe we could PPV it thru the net and put it up on a projector. This'll probably be hammered out when we get there Thursday. I'll try to ask them before I start golfing & drinking....or is that drinking & golfing. No matter, I'll ask. Assuming this'll fly, are you in charge of paying for/collecting funds for this event? Mossad June 17, 2006 Author Share Mossad June 17, 2006 Hell if no one wants to kick in and we can't get cable/ppv access I have no problem paying the 40 bucks to watch some fights

Chief June 23, 2006 Share Chief June 23, 2006 Hopefully there will be a fat pipe so that we can get a smooth 600kbps stream, the downsized is 300. Looks like there should be enough folks to chip in 5 bucks and cover the 40 charge to someone's CC. License is locked to a single PC and requires IE and an account. We should be able to do all that on site once we've done a speed test to make sure that we're going to get to watch it smoothly: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Dr. Drunk June 24, 2006 Share Dr. Drunk June 24, 2006 A lot of rules now. I miss the old days. I'm sure cheif can recall every matchup ever had so maybe he can pull up the one where the guy took repeted shots to the groin.
Chief June 25, 2006 Share Chief June 25, 2006 Yikes, that was 8th grade and she was bigger than me. Girls mature faster...they shouldn't be allowed on the same bus!
Guest zerodamage June 25, 2006 Share Guest zerodamage June 25, 2006 Ultimate Fighting something (Championships?) Kinda no rules brawling. Oh no, there are plenty of rules. It is said that the UFC is safer for a fighter than boxing.

Chief June 26, 2006 Share Chief June 26, 2006 Ya I was really surprised that Haines went the distance against Bisping, he must have a lot more core strength than it looks like. And I was really happy to see Herman almost get choked out by Kendal. All in all a great night, it'll be fun to see how Ed Herman does in a full on fight.
