Canadian Apology

A truly Canadian Apology to the USA... Courtesy of Rick Mercer from This

Hour Has 22 Minutes, CBC Television:

On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the

United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well recently and for that, I am truly sorry. I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation,

the fact that he's a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of

America. After all it's not like you actually elected him.

I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees

than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and better than your own.

I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our excuse

would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours.

I'm sorry we burnt down your White House during the war of 1812. I notice

you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice.

I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer but,we feel your pain.

I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up against

a crazed dictator, you want to have your friends by your side. I realize it

took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler, but

that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons.

And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly

apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a thinly

veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over this.

We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with!!

Jesse the Body Ventura would make a great president. He could choke out Bush with a full nelson while crippling Gore in a figure four and still have the wherewithall to get a double tap on Sadam from 50 meters. He has more character than Gore, more charisma than Bush, is braver than both put together, and has a pretty impressive media presence.

Not quite as smooth as Reagan or slick as Clinton but I'd pay to see him go from the tops ropes onto Chirac's weak temple with an elbo. I'd love to see a SEAL as president.

I definitely don't want Gore, and Bush just isn't quite fit to lead a nation with some of the worst public speaking skills seen since TV had Kennedy best Nixon these many years ago. But I'll vote for The Body!

i keep it simple when voting

I want the guy who knows what he's doing

I don't care how slick he is, or his "stage" presence

I care about that guy sincerly wanting only to good for his country and not himself, someone bright enough to run it

Al Gore was that man, and if he woulda won the election you would see

:sigh:

Why do people feel the need to come in here and make blanket statements that just CALL for a response which will only produce more responses in kind and we end up becmoing the best bickering CS community in the whole CS realm?

btw, nice first post. I love creatively done sarcasm.

Canada is the home of insecure ex-hippies. Half the population is made up of draft-dodging americans.

hehe - I have seen quite a few canadians speaking up recently in support of the war and against their PM. They have even taken out ads in this weekends USA Today showing their support.

As for you people talking about the election....LMAO. This is years old and you still carry a grudge? We do not live in a democracy, we live in a republic. The term democracy is not even mentioned in the constitution or Bill of Rights.

It is ok for this guy to make fun of the US, we do not mind. Canada has been the subject of many, many jokes. The only thing I wonder about.....How can he call Bush a moron when their own PM is worse; they are not supporting the war in Iraq but yet want in on rebuilding the country, they talk like "Whoot?" "Hoser", etc....

I know all about history and how our government is run and I shouldn't be blamed for holding a grudge, it was only the most important position in our government
