VooDooPC October 11, 2008 Share VooDooPC October 11, 2008 (edited) For those of you that don't know BlizzCon 08 is happening right now and they announced something real dumb they are doing to Starcraft 2. Instead of releasing the full game they are only releasing the Terran campaign with Starcraft 2 and you will have to buy the Protoss and Zerg campaigns separately as two other version of the game. So be prepared to buy Starcraft 2 3 times. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6199172.html?...adlines;title;1 http://www.giantbomb.com/news/ready-to-buy...hree-times/349/ Edited October 11, 2008 by VooDooPC

Think I will pass. I haven't like Blizzard in years, they can eat me.
VooDooPC October 11, 2008 Author Share VooDooPC October 11, 2008 (edited) I looked at IGN and it seems the other two campaigns will be full stand-alone games and not expansions. So if they are priced as full games you will be paying 150 dollars for all three. Edited October 11, 2008 by VooDooPC
samurai nightling October 11, 2008 Share samurai nightling October 11, 2008 Ugh, doesn't Blizzard make enough millions off of the $15 a month they make you pay for WoW? I mean theres how many WoW players, times that by 15, times that by 12, and you get like hundreds of millions of dollars a year for one single game. That's the whole reason i never bought or played WoW, screw the monthly fee. Now they are splitting SC2 up into 3 games? They are so dumb. I was looking forward to possibly playing SC2 but now i don't think i wanna pay that much money. And they also announced Diablo 3 a while back, which looks very WoWish and not enough like Diablo. Yes im still pumped about the game and cant wait til it comes out in like 3 years because they take their sweet time making everything they announce. But now i wonder what kind of lame stuff they are gonna do to ruin Diablo 3. Guess I'll just have to wait and see, I'm sure they will find some way to profit even more off of it. What I mean is that when people play multiplayer, they should still get whatever is new about the zerg that they would get when they buy the zerg campaign. If not, then it would be like buying counter-strike 3 (or whatever) and only the CT getting newer models while the T still had the CS source models. anonymo October 16, 2008 Share anonymo October 16, 2008 Is Actiblizzard still going to force you to pay a monthly fee to play WoW/StarcraftII/DiabloIII over Battlenet like they announced a few months ago?
Saris October 17, 2008 Share Saris October 17, 2008 Is Actiblizzard still going to force you to pay a monthly fee to play WoW/StarcraftII/DiabloIII over Battlenet like they announced a few months ago? I've been searching feverishly for that since I read it here, but it seems to be just a rumour for now. The original site with all the information on Battle.net 2.0 seems to have taken all of their 'inside info' down. Either way, they'd lose me as a customer if they did. I'd have to be paid myself to touch WoW with a ten foot pole, I probably won't play SC2 for very long and I'll live without Diablo 3 if they intend to charge anything over $10/month. VooDooPC October 17, 2008 Author Share VooDooPC October 17, 2008 Charging for Battle.net would never work. Microsoft already made that mistake with Windows Live, no PC gamer will pay for a service that is pretty much a peer to peer connection service. bushwack October 18, 2008 Share bushwack October 18, 2008 Looks like they are going to eschew the normal 50 bucks for a game and start off at $60. Whoohoo! I cant wait to throw down 200 dollars to play SC2!! Yes!!!
