Time to build another one...

Alright so it turns out my motherboard took a dump on me. So long story short; I'm building another computer. My budget is no more than $500 bucks. I'm re-using my case and my cd drive. Take a look and let me know what you think or if you have any of this stuff; let me know what you think of it. Or if you know of something better; let me know also. Here we go:

Motherboard/CPU Combo: ASUS Motherboard M4A785-M / AMD Phenom II X4 3.0GHz

Let me know what you guys think and if I'm forgetting anything too. Also my case is green with blue lights so that's why I went with the green and blue theme.

If you could find the socket LGA775 motherboard for under $100 (which I'm sure you can - try gigabyte or asus) then you can get an E5200 and overclock it quite nicely (plus $15-25 for a better heatsink). Save some monies there too if need be.

Do you ever overclock? What kinds of games do you play? What are you going to be using the pc for?

I just picked up a E5200 for $42.98 after shipping, great deal if your going to overclock and not worried about virtualization in Win7 Pro. Not much of a boost over my old E2160 @ 3.2 but I need a CPU for my HTPC.

I am going to re use my HD. I just bought a new 500 GB about 2 weeks ago. I don't really ever overclock so I wasn't too sure on all that. I am also just going to be playing CS and surfing the net and things like that and as well as music too. I'm willing to spend more money for a better video card since I don't want to have any problems running CS. I appreciate all of the help as well. I will be checking back in here soon. I just got a new job so I've been working like crazy lately.

So I finally got all my parts at the house and started putting it together last night. Went with the AMD Phenom II X4 3.2ghz CPU and an ASUS motherboard with a new dvd/cd drive as well as my VC. I'll get some more info up later if anyone has any feedback on this stuff lemme know! I got the memory coming in next week so i'll have it up and running soon!
