samurai nightling September 2, 2011 Share samurai nightling Member September 2, 2011 Just did a nice thorough cleaning of the inside of my PC. Dust and dog hair all cleaned out. Looks nice, if only i could of taken apart my GTX 260, i tried but after the screws were out it wouldnt pull apart, maybe i missed one or 2 but i didnt wanna chance ruining it, so i left it alone. How often do u guys clean out your PC?

ZeroDamage September 3, 2011 Share ZeroDamage Member September 3, 2011 Mine is filtered but I clean those once every two weeks during the summer. The AC cleans up most of the dust. Winter time I do it every weekend.
boiler September 3, 2011 Share boiler Member September 3, 2011 That reminds me, I need to clean my dust filters! Thanks guys!
samurai nightling September 3, 2011 Author Share samurai nightling Member September 3, 2011 Mine has filters also, but they dont keep all the dust out. I may have over exaggerated with the dog hair a little, but fine dust particles still build up on the fan blades and heatsinks.

samurai nightling September 4, 2011 Author Share samurai nightling Member September 4, 2011 That's pretty much what I'm talking about. Even with my filters, dust like this was built up on the fan blades and in the heatsinks for the CPU and video card.
yErMoTH3r September 26, 2011 Share yErMoTH3r GC Founder September 26, 2011 It was Lobo's AGP card - we just upgraded him from a p4 2.66 and 7600 GS(the pic) to a phenom II x4 955BE and an XFX6850. He's needed this for some time :-)

Smeg October 14, 2011 Share Smeg Member October 14, 2011 (edited) Invest in a two inch wide paint brush. It's great for quick Heatsink/fan dusting and reusable Also canned air can force dust into fan bearings causing premature wear. bushwack October 16, 2011 Share bushwack Member October 16, 2011 I lent my sister-in-law a computer. She never shut it off. Her house was hit by lightning. She gave it back.

samurai nightling October 17, 2011 Author Share samurai nightling Member October 17, 2011 Haha nice. I'll have to open mine up and see how it is since u cleaned it and started this topic. Also might try to take a pic of one of my work computers and show how bad they are.
bushwack October 17, 2011 Share bushwack Member October 17, 2011 I just usually clean mine every upgrade I get, which is about every 3 months. I just installed a new Samsung 1tb drive just for games so I did a little cleaning. I figure round Christmas I'll clean her out again when I switch my OS drive to SSD.
