waymon January 3, 2013 Share waymon Member January 3, 2013 Hello all! I am looking for a new videocard so I can maintain 100fps during the craziest of firefights with flames and smokes that involves 50 people. Not really looking to spend more than 300 bucks...anyone keep up with this stuff? I'm rocking a 8800GTS right now. Thanks

Preacher January 3, 2013 Share Preacher Member January 3, 2013 Well you can get a handfull of cards that meet your askings but here arew the two best: ATI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131478 Nvidia: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130810 Both are good cards (I would go ATI for the money vs performance every time) You will most likely see a slightly better performance ratio from the ATI card. Preacher January 4, 2013 Share Preacher Member January 4, 2013 For the best card at the lowest price I suggest the ATI 6870. It plays everything you can throw at it and I have seen refurb cards for as low as like $

boiler January 4, 2013 Share boiler Member January 4, 2013 Waymon, if you're interested I have an EVGA GTX 570 Superclocked I would be willing to sell for a reasonable price. See my FS thread http://gamrs.co/forums/index.php?/topic/41467-fs-evga-gtx-570-superclocked-w-backplate/ Price hasn't been adjusted in a while, so I am willing to go lower than I have listed at the moment. amertrash January 4, 2013 Share amertrash Member January 4, 2013 (edited) Waymon in order to run 3 under nVidia("Surround Gaming") you need to have two cards in SLI. For AMD just about any card will run 3("eyefinity"), but you have to have the right connections. You can run two monitors on DVI(or VGA), but the 3rd monitor has to be on DisplayPort either with a DP capable monitor or using an Active Displayport to DVI adapter. I'd go with this as if you want triple monitors it'll be a better choice than nVidia, it has a better than stock cooling setup and already has a small overclock. It's 11.4" long so make sure you have space in your case and I'd say a 600W power supply or better with 2 6 pin PCIe connectors or the appropriate adapter(s). EDIT: You'll need to pick up two of these if your monitors are DVI. Or you could do one DP adapter and get an HDMI to DVI cable, or something else depending on the connectors the monitors. onyxdragoon January 4, 2013 Share onyxdragoon Member January 4, 2013 I thought cards like GTX 660Ti and GTX 670 can run 3 all at once on a single card with HDMI, Display port and DVI.
