FFO 2013 Costs $75 - Why?

PAST YEARS:

$50 for a month or so. Usually mid-December to January/Feb some time.

$75 from then on until a month or two before the event and then...

$100 for late registration up through the start and at the door.

That did not always cover tee-shirts.

The $50 early registration amount was from the time when GC was pushing money out the door as fast as it came in. Fatty needed (wanted, liked to have) money in the door to cover the deposit for the venue.

NOW:

$75 straight on through, even day of if there is room.

Only knock on late registrants will be the possibility of not having a tee-shirt in the right size...

Why $75?

- Stuff costs more.

- It's been two years off, how many are coming? We need to be safe here to pay the bills.

- New venue. Great price but we gotta bring in more tables and internet. Tables will cost us. Internet might as well (and it might not be cheap).

- Unless no one actually comes (like sub-40) everyone gets a tee-shirt.

- Venue has pool tables, foosball, pinball, air hockey.

- No restrictions on food and drink! Also there is a bar and kitchen space.

- 24 hours access!

- We're starting Thursday 6pm, not Friday morning. In total - 60 hours!

- Hotel costs can be what you want. Days Inn down the road was coming in the low $50's a week ago. That beats the $75-80+ at the Clarion. So if you are not a local this year is probably an overall savings.

- Once we have costs covered, most of the additional revenue brought in by registrants gets kicked back out to make the event more fun.
