Accessing steam community games

Hello,

Today I went to join the L4D2 server and the community list of servers never popped up on the bottom right of the screen like it always does.

How do I get that back up so I can view and join the server? anyone else have this issue?

I've never found that list to reliably bring up gcftw. Usually I just 'join game' with someone on my friends' list. Worst case, I just have the IP written down to manually connect via console.

Invalid host version, expecting 2122, got 2123

This actually means that your version of the game is out of date. Need to close your game and let it update.

open the autoexec file in thesteam\steamapps\common\\left 4 dead\ left4dead2\cfg\autoexec or create it.

enter this line

bind "F2" "connect 216.52.148.77:27015"

or

bind "f2" "connect l4d.gcftw.com"

when you want to join

open cosole

press the F2 key and youre in

where F2 can be the key that you want to use

Ok I found the issue, my game is out of date and steam cloud won't update it. The game won't update by itself either, and there is no updater that I can click to update manually...anyone have any fixes to

update my version? Please and thank you for any help!
