banned for killing myself in a map i didnt know?

Hey, I just got banned.

 

last thing i remember, people telling me to run because i was the only one alive and i fell off the map and died. I said I didn't know where I was going. Not sure who the Admin was, but he said, "Did you not want to play the 2nd half" and before i could type, "Dude, sorry, i really dont know this map" i got banned

Hi Playa
I banned you for griefing, after you "suicided" yourself. When playing as survivor, we do not allow players to kill themselves, as it obviously can destroy the entire round for both teams. I did hear you say that you thought it was the way to the saferoom, but It is hard to believe it was an accident, on that map. However, since you have come to the forums, we are willing to give you another chance.

Also, I did not say "did you not want to play the 2nd half", but maybe someone else did. Several players complained when you killed yourself.

Please follow the rules of the server. This is actually your third ban this month. The first two were for a "spray" that was inappropriate. If you get banned again, for any reason, I doubt we will be so lenient.

 

Feel free to ask about any rules you are not sure of, or add me on friends list.

Thanks for the unban. Seriously tho, i only know like 3 maps. I was wondering what the other bans were for, so i just wont use my spray since peeps find it inappropriate.

 

Maybe if it was dead center I could see someone killing themselves, but others yelling at a noob to run on a map he doesnt know might need more questioning.

It makes a little more sense to me now, as most of your team was dead, and a tank was chasing you and the remaining survivors. I guess if you didn't know the map, and you were being chased by a tank and had people yelling at you to get to the saferoom, it might seem like a way down.

 

I am not sure the exact reason your spray is bad, but two different admins banned you for it, so I assume it must be inappropriate. We don't allow cursing, pornography, racism, etc on the server. If it has anything like that in it, you are likely to get banned.

Familiarize yourself with the rules linked above. If you have any questions feel free to ask players in-game they are more than happy to help. Like Peanut said, your next ban will most likely remain for it's entirety and I'm sure nobody wants that.

Yeah, its all good. No more sprays, but yeah it was so intense, the tank killing everyone and i was running on the side of the map and saw this gate that was open. first instinct was RUNNNNN. haha. anyways, love the server.

Sorry for posting here coz' im not involved in this situation. Just want to give my take on this.

 

I was on the same match and saw what happened and the reaction of the players. He was being chased by couple of hunters, smoker and tank (forgot other SI's). Most of all, He was Alone. Do you think he would've reached the saferoom with all those SI's chasing him? I bet if he didn't suicide, he would not have cleared even 10 feet. What good did it made if he didn't suicide? Some SI had surely killed him. That's it. It's the same thing, he dies either way. There's no HUGE impact on the game/round.

 

Also for the "griefing" rule, I would've agree on the ban IF he was with someone, both rushing towards the saferoom, and he alone suicided, his companion would've left alone. But that's not the case here.

 

Im not saying that the rules doesn't matter, but it also depends on the situation.

This was not a situation where he was the last person alive, and about to be killed (not that it would make it okay either). There were others alive and they were all running to get away from the tank. There is no reason to suicide yourself in this situation. This scenario happens all the time on the server. Jumping off and killing yourself is against the rules. In Playa's situation, he clearly broke the rule, but we are assuming he did it by mistake because he was unfamiliar with the map. He then came here to discuss it and tell us he will not do it again, so he has been unbanned.

 

If you disagree with the purpose of a rule on our server, please post it in another section of the forum, not in a post from someone who is asking to be unbanned.

Just to emphasize on Peanut's post, suiciding is not allowed in almost any case. Especially if the losing team decides they want to be "funny" and do it all as a group. It encourages bad behavior to everyone. If people will think it's alright to do something like that, odds are they in return will do it themselves in a different situation. Playa's situation is unique. There are at times where someone won't know the map because they just bought the game, hopped into a 10v10 and didn't know what to do. It happens...all the time. Thankfully Playa came to the forums and explained his situation and all is right in the world...I wish.

 

Anyway, Playa, thanks for coming to the forums and hope to see you in game on one of my now rare visits to the server.
