Minecraft mod suggestions

Please post your mod ideas in this thread, we can also have some debates about the mods in this thread as well, if a mod cannot work on the server or is to taxing then it will not be implemented. I will try to make a list on occasion to make it easier to see what mods have been suggested.

Here's some Mods for suggestions:

http://www.minecraftmods.com/plant-mega-pack/  (this one offers LOTS of plants and crops)

 

http://www.minecraftmods.com/more-crafting-recipies/  (this one just has more recipes like making diamond ore block out of 1 diamond and a stone)

 

http://www.minecraftmods.com/emeraldmod/ (this just makes emeralds craftable into all types of items (i.e. doors and chests))

 

http://www.minecraftmods.com/lotsomobs/ (this one has animals like penguins and deer)

 

http://www.minecraftmods.com/the-camping-mod/  (this one has camping stuff neato)

 

 

 

THE TOP 2 are my fav I'd like to see on the server.

looking at the mods suggested so far, the camping one is to outdated so not likely on that one, the emerald mod, just seems like a color change, I will have to look more into it to see if there is any real change to blocks other than color. Thaumcraft seems interesting but might be to complicated for a majority of the players on the server.

I believe the Achimedes Ship mod was also suggested. I would like to see a few more people chime in before I start adding mods, either with idea of there own or comments on the mods currently suggested. im thinking another week and I will start the mod selection and trial process

I suggested Thaumcraft because I know it's a super fun mod that's actually a lot simpler than many mods out there, and it includes a book in-game that explains all the mechanics.  I'm not really playing a ton of minecraft lately, so you'll want to ask input from people on the server, or tell them to go to the forums.

looking at it there was few mod suggestions so gonna look at adding them as soon as I finish the move of the multiverse into the creative only section of the main world.

 

any additional input on the mods is still helpful, mods that I will be looking into possibly adding

 

thaumcraft

furniture mod

plant mod

emerald mod

lots o mobs

crafting recipe

archamedis ship mod

 

if you have strong feeling for or agains these feel free to speak up and if you wanted to add any to the list but have forgotten to do so also feel free

looking deeper into mods on the server, there will need to be some serious changes if we are to add mods, first we will have to remove bukkit, as almost every mod isn't compatible with bukkit. in losing bukkit we would be without some of the niceties we currently have, mostly /home. in addition to losing bukkit anyone wanting to use the mod will also have to install the mod client side in addition to having it on the server, that might be difficult for some players. if we don't want to remove bukkit then we will need to find mods that are bukkit plugins, if anyone would like to look into those we can continue the server as normal and add the new plugins.

so with the minecraft server i'm at an impasse, I know that players want mods but in putting on mods I will have to remove bukkit and players will have to have the mods on the client side as well as the server having the mods for them to work, or I can try to find some bukkit plugins that will work as mods, while not as good as some of the mods, there are quite a few out there. so I am hoping that some of the players that wanted the mods would speak up and see if they want to keep it a bukkit server or if we want to try going into the modded realm.
