MPG1770 August 24, 2014 Share MPG1770 GC Server Admin August 24, 2014 (edited) When I connect/disconnect headphones/headsets/amps from computer I have to either restart programs or re-boot the computer. Is there anyway I can change sound settings in control panel and not have to mess around with volume control properties so that computer automatically detects what's in/out without having to restart/reboot? My old XP could do it, surely Win8 should be able to? Thanks. Edited August 24, 2014 by MPG1770
walkingCat August 25, 2014 Share walkingCat Member August 25, 2014 Check if you had installed conflicting drivers. Install/reinstall genuine drivers and utilities. Simply find out if there is some sort of client/user set up, system might resets itself because you need to physically click to remember your settings. Biggs August 26, 2014 Share Biggs GC Alumni August 26, 2014 I don't use Win8, I use Win7, but many applications let you set 'Default Sound Device' for audio input/output. You should be able to just change your default device on the fly and have it switch over no problem... but some applications don't have the option to specify sound devices. Or it could be a driver issue I guess like Cat is sayin'.
MPG1770 August 26, 2014 Author Share MPG1770 GC Server Admin August 26, 2014 Finally sorted I think - just bought a new headset - and I can plug it into the Logitech keyboard as it doesn't use a USB.
walkingCat August 27, 2014 Share walkingCat Member August 27, 2014 What was the issue? Or as I guess you just bought a pair of new ones, right? It's still technically an USB device.
