walkingCat October 18, 2014 Share walkingCat Member October 18, 2014 I need a new monitor and did my own research... well the ones I like are more than I can invest at this moment. My budget is restricted to <$200. In addition, a monitor has to be good for gaming. Some of my choices: Dell, another Dell and this one. As you can see I like Dells monitor. Recommendations? What you have?
onyxdragoon October 18, 2014 Share onyxdragoon Member October 18, 2014 (edited) Take a look at this. http://www.displaylag.com/ The creator is a competitive Street Fighter player and display lag is very important since a lot of things are 1 frame specific out of 60fps. It should help in CSGO too Edited October 18, 2014 by onyxdragoon

Flitterkill November 1, 2014 Share Flitterkill GC Board Member November 1, 2014 I might be interested as well. My desktop is rocking 2 Dell 2405fpw's - spectacular for the time, and still are, but the years are going by and those backlight bulbs are getting older and older... http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&sku=320-4237&validate=false&~lt=popup 2005 is a long ways back. Protomanx13 November 9, 2014 Share Protomanx13 Member November 9, 2014 (edited) My next monitor will be an ultra-wide. Not ready for 4K just yet. S. I have a lg 29ub65-p and it is amazing, but a lot of games don't support natively. Valve games works great with the monitor. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is practically unplayable in fullscreen mode. Although the game supports 21:9 ratio, whoever program the mouse cursor didn't program to support 21:9 ratio so your cursor will be off. Fallout New Vegas doesn't support 21:9 and even if you manually change the resolution on the file, some contents will be cut off like the exit button from the computer hack. BlackYoshi November 10, 2014 Share BlackYoshi Member November 10, 2014 (edited) Hijacking this thread for my own reasons. I need a new monitor as well and want a 144hz refresh rate but also one that is good for CS. Any suggestions? I can do like $300-$350 EDIT: was looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2420Z-24-Inch-LED-Lit-Professional/dp/B00HE61SOA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401902354&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+xl2420t Edited November 10, 2014 by BlackYoshi
onyxdragoon November 10, 2014 Share onyxdragoon Member November 10, 2014 What monitor do you use now?
Biggs November 10, 2014 Share Biggs GC Alumni November 10, 2014 That one looks pretty nice, Yoshi--1ms response, 144 hz.. I haven't shopped around for monitors recently, but is the # display colors still a relevant statistic? Here's the same monitor, the benq xl2420z on newegg--they show more specs there. The price is better on amazon, though. Is there any difference between "LED backlit LCD" and just "LED"? Or does that mean the same thing..?
