DandyDan December 8, 2014 Share DandyDan Member December 8, 2014 (edited) Unfortunately Banned again, Honestly not completely sure why I was removed as I was only in game for about 45 seconds; ran ahead to catch up with the group and proceeded to chase and kill a spitter when I got booted. Was a little shocked at the swiftness of getting kicked as well as the severity of the punishment (permanent). I can only assume I was banned for Rushing; I'm pretty familiar with all the ban-able offenses otherwise. In any case, I was chasing a spitter up the stairs and I guess I got too far away from the group. While I don't want to come off as jaded, I'd like a little heads-up next time I'm about to get a perma-ban; especially as I try to make a concerted effort to tread lightly on your servers. In any case, I remain in full support of the community admins and I understand they have to do their jobs, I don't want to cause any grief and I'm aware of the care I need to take to maintain the high-quality of the community. No rushing is the number one rule on our server. Rushing (more often than not) gets you merrily mauled and gains the other team a lot of points, so adversely impact your team. Again, the rules . Was just chasing a spitter. I'm guessing bc your ban reason is 1440 rushing, I think he meant to give you a day ban. Since you are new, it's not uncommon for new players to chase infected but it's best just to stay with the group. You're right that chasing SI's generally fairs badly for the individual; but one has to admit the amount of leeway given should be greater, especially for a newer player in a situation such as mine. slarfnar December 9, 2014 Share slarfnar Member December 9, 2014 I had put up about 20 warnings to the team throughout the game, yet several players (including you, even though you may have just connected) rushed WAYYYYY ahead of other team members leaving them for dead. I used a ban format that SHOULD have only banned for 1 day. I think I unbanned you from sourcebans this morning - but the program is acting funky. I will have another admin check the status, or will try again later today. Please read the MOTD to avoid another kick/ban scenario. Even if there are teammates rushing ahead, do not rush to catch up with them. The only time we view this as acceptable is when the entire team has decided it is in the teams best interest to leave "the bots" (non player characters) - you should make a good effort to escort the bots to the safe room.
