Architect March 20, 2015 Share Architect Member March 20, 2015 So I just reinstalled my OS, Steam and L4D2. I was playing for about 5 minutes when I get kicked with the message: Client Timed Out Disconnected. No matter which server I connect to, it keeps giving me the same error. I tried restarting the game, closed steam, and restarted... nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
Architect March 20, 2015 Author Share Architect Member March 20, 2015 I am doing the verify integrity now. If that doesn't do it, then I guess uninstall and reinstall. I hope it has nothing to do with the SSD I just installed.
Architect March 20, 2015 Author Share Architect Member March 20, 2015 Thought the verify worked, but played again, and kicked me out again with the time out. All that's left is to reinstall I guess.

MPG1770 March 20, 2015 Share MPG1770 GC Server Admin March 20, 2015 it's a router problem = turn off router for a minute, turn it back on, wait for another minute before restarting steam etc
Architect March 20, 2015 Author Share Architect Member March 20, 2015 it was odd, I threw on Wireshark to see who was killing my connection, and I played without issue. If I have the problem again tomorrow, I will do that Maestro, thanks!

Architect March 24, 2015 Author Share Architect Member March 24, 2015 It just stopped happening, I never did end up touching my router. Not really sure what happened, but I am glad it stopped.
Dadoo158 November 11, 2018 Share Dadoo158 Member November 11, 2018 Sorry for bumping old thread Dang it this is now happening to me. I can play for a few minutes but then I get timed out.. I just built my new rig so everything is new and updated. Router is new as well and it's not giving me any issue on any other game. I have verified the integrity of game cache and reinstalled both the game and stream but the problem persists.
looneypumpkin November 11, 2018 Share looneypumpkin GC Board Member November 11, 2018 I've had this issue in the past, usually after installing a new hard drive or building a new machine. Eventually it ends up fixing itself. I am sorry I cannot offer any other solution, but every time I've had it, it has just mysteriously stopped having the issue. Back again, I moved countries so I've been quite absent for a while, my apologies.. SO I actually bought a brand new computer. Everything is new. New router as well. But this issue is still happening to me. I am about to play for maybe 10 minutes before my client times out and it won't reconnect unless I restart the game. I have tried all the solutions from all the forum posts I could find but not had any luck at all. I would love to get back on and play with you guys again, it's just.. it wont let me ):
