HandofKhaine January 3, 2016 Share HandofKhaine January 3, 2016 (edited) Hello there, My username is Hand of Khaine. Earlier today (roughly 20 or so minutes) i received a permanent ban from johnny for switching teams. I must admit i didn't quite know the rules but i had assumed that i could switch to survivor if a spot was open. It appears that i thought wrong Background: I had switched teams twice before hand when i switched to the survivors during a previous round, upon discovering that the character i was attempting to play was already dead i switched back to infected. the next round i switched to Survivors after a few min as an infected. it is at this point that i received my permanent ban. I'm sorry that i switched teams I will endeavor to stay on infected if i receive an unban or a shortening of my sentence. warmest regards, Hand of Khaine edit: grabbing my steam id and my server location id: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198007438774 server:gamrs.co | !buy 10v10 #1 edit: after searching i did locate the rules about team swapping. Now id have to say that i could make a fairly strong argument about how the team swapping did nothing to unbalance the teams or me joining the winning team. the survivors of the last round were defeated before they reached the saferoom. my definition of winning is perhaps different from the norm i take my games from a round by round basis rather than a full campaign score. now i can understand unbalancing the teams but that is only because the teams were as i recall (it is a bit fuzzy to be honest) close or at 10 on 9 favoring infected. but i may be wrong about that. all i can say for sure is that is was close to the max limit Edited January 3, 2016 by HandofKhaine
Johnny January 4, 2016 Share Johnny January 4, 2016 (edited) Welcome to the forums, HandofKhaine. As you said, it was 10v9 or 10v10 and teams were about even in score and composition so players swapping were not allowed. There were constant swappings and warnings not to swap during the previous rounds. Then the server ( includes you ) was directly and explicitly warned not to swap anymore or they will be banned for a day. A minute later you swapped again to earn the day ban. It is not permanent. Please read our rules here: http://gamrs.co/forums/index.php?/topic/34619-gc-rulescode/?p=421793 http://gamrs.co/forums/index.php?/topic/45111-l4d2-warning-to-all-regarding-servergc-rules/?p=542507 http://gamrs.co/forums/index.php?/topic/43069-gc-l4d2-stuff-that-gets-you-kickedbanned/?p=518168 Edited January 4, 2016 by MeJohnny

Johnny January 4, 2016 Share Johnny January 4, 2016 Yes. I recommend you play with sound on in this game; communications is important. I'll unban you since it's your first ban and you don't know the rules.
JackieChan January 4, 2016 Share JackieChan January 4, 2016 edit: in any case i think i may be taking a break from these servers. first two rounds ended up with getting a ban i might try them again later i suppose. *packs up bag and heads for mount and blade territory* Please don't let a ban discourage you from playing again. Most of the time we use bans as a way to communicate the rules to players who may not be familiar with them. It's also a way to get a message across to more problematic players (not in your case though). If you have questions, concerns, or are unsure about something, add an admin on Steam and ask/talk about it. We're here to help when we can.
