Thanks for the info Unclean. And like I keep saying, I'm planning on joining up, the timing just isn't right. So if you guys can bear with me until then....
-
How and why would you do that?
BTW...thanks for the update

Wow! That looks sweet....although it makes me think whether I will be needing to upgrade my PC by the time it finally hits the street. Wait to hear what the specs are going to be I guess.
Yah, that's my concern as well.

Oh snap.
Sorry, I'm still poor. Now that I've done all my X-mas shopping, I'm poorer still. Too bad I can't pay a monthly subscription.
It's o.k. If I can't get on, there are a couple more servers that I like. Teamwork sucks on them and there are some real jack-holes playing, but since I get slaughtered on GC, I actually do well on other servers. All that butt kicking I take from you guys is paying off.

I'll miss the show. It has made my 50 minute drive to work at 6:30 every morning bearable and a helluva' lot more interesting over the past few years. I fought some pretty heavy static to listen and was subjected to many a disturbing light-rock overlap from the nearby competing station just to listen every day. That first hour of the show was always the best because it was kinda' the warm up for the rest of the day. No stripper IQ tests, no farting contests. They basically all hung out and talked about what they did over the weekend, what movies they saw or TV was on the other night, etc. Sheer, edgy, pop-culture chit chat. It was like sitting in a room full of friends. Today it's over.
Eventually, I will get satellite radio, but for now, I'll have to risk falling asleep at the wheel to the drone of Morning Edition on NPR or grinding my teeth to nubbins listening to the constantly forced, fake laughter of Bob and Tom barfing out of my radio every other second.

When I was on last night, it was me, Joss and a couple of others. Where the heck was everybody...most times I can't even get on, it's so crowded.
I didn't get to play Malestrom, but I liked Flurry.

The more the merrier. I can't wait to see the new map and how dorky we all look with santa hats on.

He probably paid one of those companies to do it for him. That's like 1000s of lights.

Thanks for the update and for adding Chain Isle. I played it on Saturday and it was just insane....and a lot of fun.

I was refered here by Sir Sheepnutz.

Installed it last night. it's pretty much the same to me...I didn't notice any difference.

According to the medis, C.S. Lewis and Disney, it's a Christian parable. *Editted - If you want to bash Christianity take it to the Religious forum please*
Looks like a killer movie....now I just gotta' figure out if I should take my 4 yr. old to it.

I heard it's good if you haven't ever seen the cartoon and have no frame of reference as to how good it could have been.

Yah, Quicktime can be an evil mistress.

Yah, I want to join, if for nothing else than to help support such excellent servers, but money's tight right now. I think I'll wait until after X-Mas...maybe Santa will give me some extra money.

Yah, the server was pretty packed out that night. I wound up playing on a different server. I forget where it was (Texas?) offhand, but the maps were very cool. It had an Air Mars map that was so sweet. I stayed on that all night, drinking whiskey and coke and getting my rear handed to me, punctuated with moments of brilliance. Wish I coulda' been in on the Dria match though. That's one of my favorite maps.

The only scales I trust is the one on my work's shipping dock.

It's all about Robotech baby. Well, that and tentacle pr0n.

Yes, the paradigm is slowly tipping. NPR had a great story on how Clap Your Hands Say Yeah found a greater audience without any help from a recording label.
Stories like that make me so happy for the future of independent rock.

I knew you guys were hiding out somewhere. You're gonna' get me to join GC, aren't ya'?

Games are different these days. They are getting a lot more realistic and there's a lot more gratuitous violence in them. I've been a gamer all my life and was weened on 80s arcade games, so of course I never thought for a second that any of it was real. Then again, my family had a black and white TV with 4 channels and I spent a lot more time away from it than in front of it. Nowadays, with HD/Surround Sound/Hi Res/etc, the line between fantasy and reality can probably become pretty blurry for a young child. Studies have shown that your brain reacts to events on television just as it would in real life. I think that ratings are a good idea, but anything more than that is a violation of our civil rights.
I have a 3 year old and I keep him away from the tube as much as possible. he has a few interactive learning games I teach him on the PC, but I don't think I'll ever buy him a console. This is another topic, but my personal belief is that once a kid gets into games and they are pretty much developing worlds for them to play in, their imagination stops developing at that point.
-
If games are rated and retailers aren't selling them to kids because of theeir age, then the system is working as it should. The breakdown is with the parents. This is probably a bad analogy, but my kid just can't go buy a porno, so why would I buy it for him and then let him watch it?

Are we an antisocial bunch or what?
I was hoping this would be a good spot to chat about the game, but I never see anyone post here except for mods and admins. Is there a secret place you guys all go and chat about the game, or are you all so talked out about it that there isn't much else to say? I get the same feeling when I play and nobody is using their mics. Is everybody communicating with a different method?
Well, hopefully this will change when 2007 is released.
In the mean time, I have a quick question about UT2004. I've been trying to figure out how to bind my AVRIL to a key and I can't do it through the game dialog. Can anyone help me? Also, are there any other cool key binding I should be aware of. I feel like I've been playing for a few months now and I still haven't scratched the surface.
