    Apology.

    in Banned from any of our servers?

    I'm not an admin, but have been a long time member. Lunk has been a member even longer, since 2003 i believe, and an admin for quite some time. If he muted and/or slayed you, then I'm sure it was for good reason at the time. We try to keep the server fun, and there is sometimes a fine line between fun banter and abusive chatter. I do not know the entire circumstance but I do know that there is a glitch in the game right now that I believe surfaced from the new updates where alive teamates can hear dead teamates in teamchat. I believe the gc team is addressing that issue but until it is resolved, we need to do our best to keep the gameplay fun & fair, and keep chatter to a minimum when dead so that those that are alive can fully appreciate the gameplay. I am guilty of slipping on this myself sometimes.

     

    If that is not the issue, then I am sure we will hear from the admin side soon and this misunderstanding can be put behind us.

     

    Until then, keep playin with us, have fun, and be courteous and professional to your fellow gamers.

    Oh and interesting, maybe i knew this at one time, but i lived in washington for awhile there myself b4 i went off the radar. Beautiful state for 3 months of the year, the rest is depressing as heck tho.....

    whoa, the stuttering man AND Laz are both still around? I heard rumors, but haven't seen any signs of life from ya'll!

     

    yeahI got outta the ol' nav in 2007 (honorably of course :-) ) and moved out in the beautiful land of corn in iowa. The only option for internet i had then was satellite and that went on for 2 years. Finally verizon got some waves going on out here in the fields (with the help of a signal booster) so there we go back to the world of gaming and .gc.

     

    Me, im working as a maintenance technician in the food industry. Work on/with PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment. I like it pretty well, and I'm not out on a boat for months at a time heh. Got 3 kids now, oldest just started kindergarten, youngest is 10months. Live on an acreage with any number of cats and a couple of dogs. My wife wants to start raising chickens next year :-P

     

    Anyways, don't wanna bore anyone with my life story, but since you asked, thats the sum of things for me and the fam.

     

    And btw, that is one huge fish there Laz, whats the story there?

    Good to see alot of the people still around from when i joined and started playin on gc west in 2005. Last post I was on satellite internet and unable to play. Well, I've been on wireless broadband now for about a year and it is *playable* (certainly not ideal), about 100-200 pings. I signed back up for gc of course when that happened, but i worked a split 2nd/3rd shift schedule so the only time i ever saw action on gc was the weekends. Now I'm on first shift (be it an EARLY get up at 400am 1st shift), so I've seen alot more of you.

     

    Way back when we (most credit goes to whiteyford) started a team of pubbers and clanners, tWc, and most of those ppl came from .gc, some are still around and sporting the ol tag, some are around and not sporting it, some just aren't around anymore, but its all good, alot of good memories...

     

    Anyways, just wanted to get a post out there to say good to see alot of you ol' timers still on, be it from the team or from pubbing on the server :-) and hope to see alot more of you, and yes, you too, 'new bloods.'

    I have seen you join the easy side of every map and seen you leave if they start to lose. I personally don't think you're great, just decent.

    Actually, I'll be in the same hitch in January, I'm moving to iowa (actually i'll onl be about 4 hours away from minneapolis so we will be closer than ever john, mwahahaha.) So, if there is an internet service that can let me rock and roll, in my area, I'll likely be joining the midwest club. If internet is bad there, then i will cry.

    I'll check in with the boys in the next few days. You and I haven't played too much together since you last posted, guess we play at different times. Looking off of your stats page, though, you are using all the right guns. Perhaps a little too anxious sometimes, ur teamate kill percentage is just a little high.

     

    Team-work is very important to us and we can see that in players a great deal by how they communicate with their team in the game.

     

    Finally, we are looking for overall maturity level. Not necessarily age-wise, but mentailty wise. We want players that will represent us with good sportsmanship and attitude in the public servers. This is perhaps what takes the longest for us to judge newcomers in, and it is why it takes awhile for us to make the final call for most ppl on tagging up.

     

    So, the final call comes down the various members of our team giving you positive feedback to mainly the teamwork / maturity categories. Skill we can always help you build up.

     

    Just a quick question, mostly out of curiosity... were u mainly just wanting to tag up and pub to begin with, to be a part of our "pubbers crew"?

     

    Well thot I'd better give you something for now until we can all come to a final consensus. But yeah, keep it up!

    well, i have been away the last 3 weeks so this is my first week testing it out and first post here. I'll probably repeat some things others said, because reading thru 4 pages of posts was giving me a headache.

     

    I don't mind it as much as others so far. I enjoy seeing others suffer trying to use weapons that I dont mind using! :biglaugha: I enjoy being able to try out weapons that I don't use alot, knowing that most other ppl are in the same hitch (until a team starts really losing). I think it makes for an overall more rounded css player. It also may be giving others a chance to find out they are actually pretty decent with a weapon they haven't tried using too much.

     

    BUT I must say a couple of negative thing so far... it is pretty ridiculous when the deagle costs more than half of the other weapons out there. And it does put the losing team at an even greater disadvantage. I dare say it is a fact that no matter how skilled players are with the "cheaper" weapons.... a skilled team using m4/aks/awps/deags/armor WILL, in most instances, "roll" a more skilled team using smgs/augs/scouts/clarions/defenders/other pisols who may or may not be able to afford armor after the other purchasing.

     

    Also, it looked like there are more negative posts about it, than positive. Certainly the ones that are negative are more strongly opinioned than the any of the positive ones, to the point that ppl are threatening to not play on the servers anymore. So I'm sure the admins are taking that into consideration.

     

    From what I understand, this is still a test run on west, so i'm not going to throw up a fuss yet, regardless.

     

    So i still don't have a strong opinion either way, especially for pubbing purposes, but it IS only on my 2nd day of playing with it on so far, so perhaps more to come.

    Clarification: This was on immutable @ about 1115 on 10-21-2006. I was not on the server, but was about to come on (actually, about to go to midwest because I hate italy and midwest had more players) and noticed before I did a little browsing the server was full, and when I was about to come on, map had changed and only 9 players were on.

     

    I don't see admin 'abuse' in this case or in general. It was probably not the wisest move to make here, but in all actuality, .gc servers ARE geared for those who joined the community. We do get to have an opinion on the server, it's part of our privaleges as paying members.

     

    Like I said, with a full server and balanced teams, not the wisest move, because changing it to italy actually DID kill the server, went from a full server to 9 players. It could have just as easily have stayed full, though, the admin didn't have a way to know, italy is usally a high-traffic map (why, I don't know, but thats a whole other story lol), and I am sure he/she was just trying to keep us paying members happy :-)

     

    As far as the name thing... many ppl would find that name offensive, "jew" jokes are considered to be offensive and politically incorrect in polite society. I have no idea why the other name is offensive, but I'm sure the admin was doing what he thought was right. I look at it this way: I'd rather the admins lean more on the strict side if anything. Keeps everyone honest. Its not a big deal for someone to change their name when they have been asked to.

     

    Anyway, thats my thoughts on it buddy.

    I like contra quite a bit, but like jester says, if its not bringing in the numbers, it should at best be involved only during high traffic times/admin's disgression. Also, I'm right there with z3ro & Jester on 2 other maps. Dust and (especially) port, for lack of better terminology, plain suck imo and are even better candidates to take out of the rotation.

    nah, nothing to see there except for a bunch of *boring* team stuff and elite strats. "These are not the droids you are looking for, move along" Wait, oh yeah, stutters has our passwords (though I *doubt* he even needs that much with his super board member powers) and can view our posts anytime.... o0o

     

    And yeah, like dye said, we are good to go for season 6 cal, not only do we have the skill thats always been there and improved upon, but also the experience of 1 season behind us, and more dedicated players this season. In fact, we are looking to expand the team and include a tWc twl ladder as well, we'll see how the first half of this season in cal goes.... :wiggle2:
