  1. Getting deeper into my old stuff I have a Dell Optiplex GX270 sitting around collecting dust. If anyone is interested here are the specs:

Running Windows XP Pro SP2 (I'll let you update it)

    Pentium 4 Northwood 2.40 GHz

    2 x 512mb (1Gig) Corsair PC3200 VS512MB400 RAM -- http://www.newegg.co...&Tpk=VS512MB400

    2 x 75Gb Hard drives

    ASUS AH3450 512mb RAM -- http://www.newegg.co...1-315-_-Product

    DVD R/W

All this sale includes is the PC itself, no extra cables, disks or anything else. The Dell Tag number still works online for drivers (except for the video card) I can include a driver disk for people who would want one. If anyone has any questions please post or PM me! I would like $75-100 for it, I'll even pay for shipping.

  2. How were you able to change your PSN account password? I can't even log on to change mine.

I had a credit card on file with them. I called my card company and the fella that answered said they have been flooded with calls about the PSN network. He listed my card as lost or stolen and is sending me out a new one.

The PSN Network is down period, you can't log-in via your PS3 or via a browser. We have to wait till it comes back up... If it ever does.

  3. So how can we tell if Sony had that information in the first place? I'm not sure I ever put CC info in when I signed up for a PSN account.

If you never purchased anything from Sony via the PSN you should be O.K. However, I have changed all passwords associated with my PS3 (e-mail, netflix, router). I never had a c/c on the PSN so I'm not too worried, but still keeping an eye out for anything.

  4. So, my next item on the selling block is an "old" GPS that I never use. I think in the time that I have owned it I probably have only used it 2 or 3 times since owning it. This is a refurbished model, and it works perfectly. There are no scratches or dead pixels or problem spots with the screen, and the case is in great shape as well. This is a great little GPS. It takes a little getting used to when entering an address to where you want to go, but once you learn the system it's pretty easy. Everything is included: box, manual, GPS, mounting unit, and charger. Looking to get around $50 for it, but it is negotiable. Most refurbished units are sold around $75-100 depending on where you look (Amazon). I will ship it anywhere in the US for free. If you are interested or have any questions let me know.

  5. Most of my questions have been answered. I guess the only thing I'm still wondering about are the dual video cards. Would 2 8800's be better than 1 9800? Also, what is the advantage for using dual video cards vs a single? Is this similar as using a dual processor to a single?

Hopefully those links work. The chart is from 2009, but it is from when they were comparing SLI to just 1 card. The first one is 3dmark and the second L4D with maxed out settings (which isn't exactly "amazing" but is a good benchmark). And you can check other charts as well, this one is just the "most popular" comparison chart.

Thanks for the PSU link. That is the correct one.

  6. Sorry I haven't been back able to reply recently, I have been moving to a different location. I think I can answer most of your questions, or just confirm what has already been stated.

    1) I do NOT believe that the 8800 and the 9800 can be SLI'd together. I can do some research on that and get back to you. You do not need Win 7 or Vista for SLI. Originally I has Win XP Pro 32bit with this system and it ran flawlessly.

    2) This board will NOT support i7. You can however get a quad core that is supported by this board. Any CPU that is socket LGA775 will / should work (Q6600).

    3) This setup will run TF2 CS:S BF2 CODw/e Crysis, any thing you can throw at it. When I had it overclocked I could play Crysis in the highest settings and get around 20-30fps (which is pretty good for this setup).

    4) Typical requirement for "Most" games is 2-3 GB, and that's a high estimate. Usually 1-2GB

    5) You can run WinXP or Win7 on this system. I used both. As stated before the only difference between 32 and 64 versions is the RAM recognition, and some optimization of the hardware usage.

Thanks to the others who helped out while I was not available. I'll check in again in a day or two whenever I get the internet situation completed. (Hopefully by tomorrow!!) If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

    --edit

"Plus it can handle the newest video cards for upgrades as well so the PC is really future proof for at least 3-6 years." - Preacher - This is exactly how I build my systems =) Then I end up getting new stuff every year or two anyway LOL!

  7. This is a nice deal. I am sure someone will grab it from you.

I didn't buy all of the parts all at once... I think the oldest parts are the RAM and the Power Supply. Both around 2-3 years old, the rest of it is at least 1 year old. I know I didn't upgrade any of it last year.

Edit... I think the reply button is borked. Supposed to quote Penty....

  8. YoMamma is the lucky winner, all parts have been sold!

Tax returns are a wonderful thing. Selling my "old" PC. I kept my old case so I have an extra old one if you would like it. I will go through my box-o-stuff and find extra cables screws etc if you need any, I will also include any manuals/disks that I have (which should be most of them) for each part. The Mobo and GPU's are all registered on EVGA with their 100% return if you break it warranty. This PC WILL NEED a HARD-DRIVE, OS, and CD/DVD player, as I kept my old ones and I will not supply one. I would like to sell this all as a PC instead of breaking it down into parts. If you are interested in just some parts hold off for a week or two so I can see if anyone wants the complete PC. After that I will be willing to gut it down. I'd like to get $300 for the whole PC and I'll ship it to you. I can guarantee that all of the parts work and I know you can O/C this machine to at least 3.8Ghz stable. If you have any questions or concerns let me know.

  9. Live Draft would be fine, as long as we don't do it tomorrow night. Tuesday or Wednesday would obviously be our last 2 possible days to do it. And since we are trying to get as many people in this as possible, Wednesday may be THE day to have it.

  10. zBlock should be on the server and working as of earlier. Get on a see if you still get shot around corners.... and if it is me killing you, then you know that doesn't count.

  11. Hopefully we can get a new zBlock added to the server. That will fix the never seeing people and dieing...

Did some google-ing and it looks as if they have a good working RC2 out, I will notify Mookie to see if we can get it up and test it.
