  1. Hey guys - I love Rust! Had no idea GC had a Rust server.

Looks empty though - does it normally have people on it? Or are you all playing somewhere else?

I've got like 70 hours on Rust, but haven't played recently, since the group I played with kinda split up.

  2. Player: Giru

The attached demo should be proof enough - this is a classic example of a no-spread / anti-recoil cheat. Seen tons of them in my CS/CS:S days, watch the very quick and sporadic crosshair movement when he holds down his fire button. This is textbook nospread/anti-recoil hack.

Demo and screen with his steamID info attached, had to zip the demo, as it said I couldn't upload a .dem file.

  3. Yeah only problem with the fireworks one is that sometimes it ends up giving me a propane tank instead.. I guess it's not 1, 7, 7 on every map?

Thanks for posting those, Biggs. And yeah, there's 1 or 2 maps that switch that around for some reason. I usually buy at least 3 propane tanks on accident :(.

  4. Huh. For some reason, I always thought the console command "kill" was disabled. I've seen most servers blocking the command with sourcemod or such. Jackie should implement something like that here if it hasn't been already! ^_^

Might be - could have been that he ran right out into the tank that we were firing on I guess, I was in the back trying to not get owned myself. I assumed that since he died so quickly after switching, he just used the console command.

I guess it could have been a few different things in reality - I just didn't like the taste it left in my mouth, considering the way the game was going. I don't have a demo or anything beyond the screens, so no biggie. Just wanted some clarification on the team flip-flopping aspect, seems pretty lame.

  5. Did he switch to survivors or was he switched? If the latter perhaps he was just trying to get back to infected? Teams command is always tricky no matter what the game. Given how popular the server is didn't someone almost immediately join in to fill the gap on survivors or does the game not work that way? Not saying it was a good way to handle things if that was the case; you get switched suck it up and keep playing...

It was an intentional trolling/greifing, he started map as infected, about 2 mins in, I killed him when he was a boomer. During his respawn time, he switched to survivor (using the command), intentionally kills his survivor character and immediately switches back to infected. This left the survivors with 9/10 characters alive for the entire map. At least that's how I saw it happen.

  6. Wondering if this is a bannable offense? If not, seems something should be done about it. "-Draggie" was in the server this morning around 10am EST. He was on infected (I killed him as a boomer first), then he switched to survivors, suicides his bot using kill in the console and then switches back to infected, leaving survivors one man down right out of the gate.

Here's 2 screenshots, don't be jealous of my awesome mspaint skills please.

  7. FK, L4D2 doesn't work the same way CS:S does. Members can not simply join a full server and have it kick a nonmember, there is no way to set this up like CS:S.

Members can sit in the 2 extra slots to spectate without worrying about being kicked automatically though. Members can request an admin in the server to kick a nonmember so that you can play. Not many people do this though, most just spec until a spot opens up.

Other member perks are being able to do the !light and !hat commands to give your character some "color" and personality lol. You can also use the admin chat in game.

Kinda a few days late, since I don't check the forums much. But there is in fact a way to kick non-members. Sky, who has commented on the forums before has done it for his server which he coded completely by himself(rpg server). Just takes a bit of work. Chatted with him about this a few months back. Last I recall, he said something about having it done to specifically not kick the person who was newest and non-member, as to help build the community. It'd give a message to the player as to why they were kicked etc. Just a matter of him and jackie going over the details if this was something that's really desired. Though I was under the impression that it wasn't something cared for.

As to keep on topic... Welcome, psuedo.

This sounds great. I've seen it done on other servers too. It will just auto-kick the person who's most recently joined that's not a member with a message saying that they are being kicked for a member reserve slot...and to visit the forums to become a member, etc.

  8. Hi all - I've been playing on the GC 10v10 server for a few weeks, been having a blast, so I decided to donate (also for that delicious reserve slot). I sent $25 into the paypal address, think that should cover me for the year, right?

Anyhow - I wanted to post to make sure whoever is in charge of memebership/donations got mine today. Here's my Steam info, not sure what else you guys may need. Let me know if I should message someone directly too - thanks.
