  2. You can still see them, when you kill them, I am only refering to using the name banner as a marker to show where they are where you would normally not see them. Sword6
  3. Well LOL as you have seen they are able to pull the chat logs from the server. So do what I do, simply advise them as an admin would regarding the rules, but simply state your an admin assistant, and are recording there name, so the admins can check the logs for future banning or kicking. This has and does work and yields from players who respect the server, a healthy apology. Further it would be nice if there was a program in place that triggers an autowarning to players like the one you do have in place, but, logs offences per player and on 2nd kicks, then on third, bans. You do have a please i was banned can I comeback forum, so perhaps that would save alot of words even for the admins while they are playing. Let the machine sort them out. Just Food for Thought Sword6
  4. Speaking of Pop-up labels, I personally think the only names you should ever see of any color period is that of your own team. Soldner for example will not allow you to see the name label of anyone other than your teamates, this way, no name means no enemy. That way it prevents cursor scanning. (running your mouse cursor over dark or concealed areas untill you see enemy tags pop-up) This should be employed with CS Source immediatly as already there are people suggestion this method to other players. I do like more of a real based game, so NO to the color them all Red and Blue. But CS Source should have matured. It is still a game of patience and outthinking your oponents, but this method of scanning takes away from flashlights, and NV in darkplaces. And leaves room to rob someone of setting up a well deserved ambush they set up. Windows people who are further back so that players cannot see them to well are purely thwarted by running your mouse cursor over the window and wait for red to pop up ( or blue ) So thats my stance. The Cursor thing, totally hurt bf1942 till they offered and official way to shut it off. Wish they had it here. Sword6
  5. Hey Thomas when we were playing there was a guy that was calling the admins llike a tonne of insulting names, and was carrying on wounding and swearing, i got kicked for reserve so didn't catch his name did you get it? He also had that spray with flahing blue letters saying "I do what I want if you dont like it go F*** yourself" over a hand giving a one finger salute. It was about 930 to 1000 pm tonight. Just wondering Sword6 Oh and Thomas Thats 0 knife for you, and 2 headshotties for me Get me next time i guess lol
  6. There are reports all over of the behavior you describe. After conversing with some people who have witnessed the same, found a peculiar oddity, that due to some coding issues, people trying and i emphasize "trying" to craft aimbots, are having no luck due to someting imbedded in the code with the game, call it anti-cheat whatever. The interesting thing is, that apparently the crafty devils are trying to route the code through the mouse controllers. This has a very unique effect, that when this is in use, people hosting servers suffer performance lock-ups for no explainable reason, and players sometimes seem to lose control of their charcters in game, forcing them to run straigt ahead or random spins in view. Meaning other characters are being affected sporadically by uncommanded mouse movements affecting view and movement. Valve has apparently investigated this and has patched the area vulnerability. But still people are trying to get around it, to date there are no real "working" distributed aimbots in use. Only individual coding attempts to replicate them. But very good eyes catching that, would have been interesting to geth is ID and score from the game. Sword6
  7. HOWEVER I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION!!! How the heck did someone walk on the edge of the overhang ledge above the T double doors on Aztec, if you go out the door, crouch by the box and look up you will see the lefge i refer too...I am just curious. Sword6
  8. I guess you know M2 that IS a good way to look at it, kick is a warning, i will have to think on it. I guess all I am trying to get across is the intent....the intent ort someone who was not aware of what they said as it happened so fast and as I was totally caught off guard by the guy being on the overhang, I can type 85 words a min, so I can fire off what i am thinking before I realize it sometimes. I was wrong, and that is the end of it. My apologies for everything here and there. Just in closing, I still do feel that what I was saying above was misconstruid, and taken out of the context I was presenting in. What i said in game no doubt was heated and that was wrong no question. So if possible I will put more thought into things here and there and will think more before I speak. All the Best Sword6
  9. Ok fair enough, and maybe I should have dropped it, but bringing it here is the right thing to do if you have questions about it am i wrong in that assumption? So for that I do apologize, but I only want you to look at it from my view this once and tell me what you think: I hardly ever if at all swear, like a once in a week or more type of occurance, and 99% of the time I catch myself. But to goto someon who you play with alot as an admin and kick(with no warning to make sure the player is AWARE of what he had done) and then threanten a ban to someone who you should know always tries to follow the rules is a little overboard and flexing admin muscle to someone who would take a warning seriously enough. Can you at least respect what I am saying? Anyway, I do like you guys, and wasn't trying to tick you off or say anything to offend you. Maybe I didn't type it right above, or convey it better.
  10. I was upset then and for that I do apologize, but as I said, I didn't know I had sworn, and all mag would have had to do is, say, you swore and that was that. Sword6
  11. Um okay Fatty, sorry but where did I say bullet should go? The line you qouted is me saying very clearly that those names are people who Know I follow the rules, I don't know what your meaning is about bullet or anyone else having to go anywhere. I think you and Acid are taking the tone and context of what I am saying wrong, I can tell by your responses clearly that you are. I am not whinning, nor throwing a tantrum saying "Im going home and taking my ball with me" either. What I am saying bottom line is: I like GC and will support them in game, and financially( so not saying anything about paid member, just saying i beleive in the clan so much I opted to pay in. Nothing more nothing less. That one admin will watch someone delibertaly tk-ing as a new player and warn and warn and then boot, while another player says wth or the like and are instant kicked. No warning, People are not always aware they did it as I indicated. If someone had said "Sword dont swear" or anything I would have apologized and you know it. I do know the rules, but people slip up, wth is something i use outside GC area's as alot of you do, and it is typed as fast as it is thought sometimes so it happens without any ill intent, and when it does you should warn someone. This is a far far cry from someone who is asked to stop swearing then goes and tells the console to f***ing go f*** himself. You all have seen that. As far as public opinion goes, do you not watch what people say about you during game. Alot say you do great and have a good site, alot say you guys are over eager to kick and ban, and sometimes act like jerks, their words, not mine. I am saying to you now, I always thought you guys do a good job, but this reponse from you to something I am just trying to suggest to you to maybe cut come veterns of your site some slack is being responded to with " I don't like what yo8u said and now I am going to kick you when I see you" over something you mis-read. Did I use an or-else in there, was I rude, or threatening, no, i simply am saying that if you can make someone who felt strongly positive about your clan and site feel this way, then whats going to happen to you if this keeps up, you will lose people and credibility. In closing I am not a noob to GC, perhaps you missed how long I actually have been playing on your sites, way beyond HL2, and as such, am saying I did so because I feel you guys are the best, nothing I said above was to dminish anything, and the comments above were offered in a freindly manner to you. I am 33 and not known to whine or throw fits, I only offer my thoughts to you, and you can take them or leave them, if that offends you then I am sorry, but you to should be sorry in return for mis-construing them, and threantening to kick me on site. Food for Thought Sword6
  12. Many thanks, I am not trying to villify Magruter, or anyone else, we all have our days, but its the treatment, and the way it was done that hurt me more. It was like "I said next time your banned, now shut up and play, and don't whine" type attitude that followed that got me ticked. That is heavy handed for anyone to do or say. I was there when I heard Mag tell another player to treat others as you want to be treated. All i am saying admins should keep that in mind. If they have an issue with me, don't like me, or whatever, then fine say so and like I said I can go elsewhere. I am there to have "F U N" That type of thing, concentrated on not screwing up, or saying the wrong thing, when you should be able to concentrate on the game is starting to sound very dictorial. I am saying this all because I am a friend, and because i do care how you and your clan is viewed, and right now the public input is 50/50. This is just the wrong way to convey a good message. Magruter, Lunk, Toka, Bullet, G2, Shaw, Clueless, and many others I see often and play with, and you all SHOULD know I obey the rules, and will always. I just don't think i deserved that is all. I wait to hear back from you. Sword6 (also Sw6rd) in case of confusion)
  13. Ok, I have always been a supporter of your servers and your rules, but there is little to no consistancy on the part of the admins. I was away for a week of not playing on the server due to the holidays, i return for my first game back in a week, did nothing wrong for the 3 rounds I played, then when coming out the T double doors on Aztec i got behind a box, and the really huge tall overhang that is like 4 times higher than any CT or T, someone was walking on and shot me, I have never seen anyone EVER able to get out there, and was caught off guard that I typed "wth how did he get up there"! I was kicked by Magruter, with NO warning. I wasnt even aware I typed it untill someone told me. I then returned to play and Magruter added " NEXT time your Banned". Like I am some annoyance or repeat offender. I play there all the time, and I am NOT saying the rules don't apply to me, but no warnings? Sometimes people just react they don't mean no harm or anything by it, I do type, at work, on MSN, and a hundred other things, sometimes things do slip out... You need to at least warn them. Anyone from here knows, if they play with me I'm a clean player. I always support GC, had sent my dues in, and frankly this conduct is getting out of hand. If I am wasting my time here, and on the server then tell me and I will go else where, but I am tired of sounding like a whinner just because I choose not to have this tyupe of thing stand. I have never thought you guys were heavy handed before, though people said you were. I apologized for swearing, but to get a ban threatened to someone you know plays and acts clean 99.9% of the time is out of line, you need to start cutting some of the regulars a break. We follow the rules. Sword6
  14. Thanks Strange, I always hate to sound like a whiner, but the fact is I am and have been in Law Enforcement, and as Shodan could no doubt atest, you do pick up keen observation skills, I am an old player, from the days when CS was born. I have never hacked or cheated however i watch everything carefully, i watch for graphic glitches that are usually normal but are consistantly off with the same characters, i watch every little detail, and see alot of abnormalities in alot of those who boast top scores on this server. I have seen members of GC even that seem to be using scripts, though none of the seriously offensive ones. I always loved CS, and used to head LBR, a great and fair clan set for real matches, against level players. We quickly quit CS and moved into battlefield and other games to fill the void due to the plague of hackers that always seem to inindate servers bent on wrecking the game for those who have the nerve to play fair. IN short, bull always smells like bull, and it won't take long to realize some players are covered in it. To them, all I can say is, why do you go out and pay $60.00 dollars for a game, then wreck it by cheating. You are the same people who cheat through life. Cause any type of cheating as far as I am concerned is a clear personality trait of the weak minded and weak willed, that they have self-esteem issues, and are unsure of their skills on a level field. They are found out eventually, but more serious is what they and their ilk are doing to gaming in general. They are creating means in which stronger code has to be written to the point of it being invasive on fair and abiding customers, they are removing freedom from gaming. Their type is responsible for a certain company we all know and love to engineer there next great title release to NOT INSTALL ON ANY SYSTEM WITH A BURNER of any kind. For copyright, and code violation prevention. It is getting out of hand, and I for one am ready to fight it. GC is at least a light out there, and a model on how to truly do things right. Sw6rd
  15. OK after a couple of very suspcious rounds with some individuals, and from the complaint of a great many players, I set out on a search to find and expose scripting and hacking in CS Source. FOUND!! ShowEnemy/Radar: Allows user to see enemy moving and positions on radar. To Bust: Watch for players tracing movements of other players with no reason to switch directions to compensate. 4,5,6 rnd Burst Glocks: Allows you to vary the size of the burst with limited recoil to that of the regular 3 rd burst. To Bust: Watch for one burst kills non-head. AKburst Fire: Allows you to configure burst fire to the same recoil as 1 trigger pull. Ie: 3 rounds into a target with one tap of mouse with almost no recoil. To Bust: Listen for game sound of one shot yet in console scoring multiple hits. DoubleZoom: Enables I mouse tap to Zoom to 2 1/2 times in one motion. This extends the zoom by 1/2 beyond the intended zoom ratio. To Bust: Nothing known. Weapon Burst Select: Allow any weapon that does not have a secondary fire mode to be configured to have a burst with variable round selection with no recoil more than the standard single shot. To bust: Same as Ak listen for players making single shot sounds but seeing multiple round impacts, or hits. Halos& Auras: Outlines players in a colored halo/Aura to make enemies stand out more. To Bust: Reported Auras are visible to spectators viewing through offending player. FastWeaponSwitching: This allows a player who runs out of ammo in a gunfight to instantly( and I do mean instantly so there is no pause in firing) to switch from one weapon to another. Ie: You fire with AWP at enemy 20ft away, but can keep shooting at the enemy from an instant switch to a pistol with no pause. Rounds from a pistol are fired before the game can render a weapon in the offending players hand.To Bust: When watching through player, notice any non-pause weapon switch between AWP shots. Triple Hit Knife: As it says, allows 3 secondary fire strokes in one hit to a player with one attack. To Bust: Watch for One hit knife slays to body. Especially if armoured. WallHack: Allows player to see through both meshed and non meshed views. Players can see players on all areas of the map at the same time. To Bust: Easily shown is players have perfect knowledge, or compensating so to trave other players they could not physically see. Speedster: Allows unatural speed in game, Ie: There are reported cases of rounds starting and less than 2 secs later getting bomb has been planted warnings. This is fairly obvious. Aimbots: These are out there not in wide ciculation as most a personal hacks. But there are cases of players aiming away from the direction of a target and scoring headshots when shooting in the opposite direction. To Bust: Multiple head hits in succession. Impossible shots. Watch for them All of these are only a small sample of scripting and hacks out there that WERE NOT INTENDED FOR PLAYERS TO USE inside the scope and parameters setup in the game. I have corresponded to Valve and to Steam to investigate sites posting hacks, where I have found them, and was replied back from them stating, that publishes in are in the works to remove and detect codes on players systems, that could negativly inffuence the game and its designed intent. Further that issues of publishing, or the use of hacks to manipulate the games code in an offending and damaging matter to produce un-desired effects will result in the removal of valid status to any person(s) product key, and possible legal action. Further they went on to clarify that game mods do not fall into this catagory if they do not unfairly influence the outcome of said game to the benefit of an individual over others. I posted this to show that people out there are using more than skill, and are ruining the game once again for everyone but the 13 yearolds and under who use them. I will not for that reason alone post the real names of these hacks, nor where they can be found as I do not want to ADD to the scum using them. Anything that gives you an Unfair advantage in this game, should ethically NEVER BE USED! Thank you Sw6rd
  16. Fair enough bud!, Not sure how it was working and when i asked in game was not answered so is why I came here.
  17. same for me to i was lower in line and was booted regualry. My Suggestion: If it can be done is to configure it to boot a player for the last to connect or lower score to make room for a reserved player, rather than just keeping it open, when you try to connect it will not frustrate people needlessly. This way a message could flash to them telling them that you are sorry but a reserved player has joined and they are removed for (low score, last to join) etc. That would be better and there woulcnt be so much frustration around it. And i know its nothing personal at al
  18. Ok I have and will always be an advocate of your servers, I have come to know alot of you, however I am probably not going to come back anymore if this keeps up. What I am reffereing to is attempting to connect to your site for 20 to 60 mins, just to get in and play. I get in, it says there's room, but i am booted just as fast as I connect. There is nobody else trying to connect cause the names I am watching in the que haven't changed, which tells me, that your reserve slots "shouldn't" be kicking me or anyone else UNLESS someone else is trying to join. Otherwise this is an admin doing it, and last time i checked i had done nothing wrong. I am a good player, I may not have the best stats, but I work with my team, and consistantly respect the rules. If if you simply don't want me, or others who respect you guys to play there anymore, then say so, and I will take my time elsewhere. But enough is enough, you on your end do not know what this is like, when you have limited periods to play and are not allowed in your server despite slots being open. I don't think I am wrong in this, and I'm not pointing fingers, despite the fact the same person seems to be online when this happens. Either way something has to be done. Always a Fan Sword6
  19. I am running a P4 3.6 GHz, 2 Gigs, Kingston Hyper X ram, pc533, with 800mz FSB HT, PCI express Mobo, with 2X Geforce 6800 Ultra OC SLI config, with a Audigy 2 sound card, and two Raptor 1000 rpm 60gig, HD in Raid.
