Sounds similar (though not exactly to) Planetside.

Miss that game. Had a clan of Vanu that played about 100 of the 150 players at a time. That game had serious promise, but I don't think the tech was ready for it. They could release it under a new name and venue now that would be amazing (modern graphics). I still have the videos we made with the Devs and MalVision for advertising it.

I remember we had to set up teamspeak so me and the other 2 leaders could only hear from the squad captains, and they heard from the grunts. Ever tried to have 100 people shout suggestions for battle strats in your ear? Wouldnt trade those memories though. Wind and Gohan were the other two that lasted as leaders.

Vanu Alliance was the clan I remember. Wow, memory lane...

loaded up the rcon tool to switch it back as I also saw it set to HQ earlier.

However, I cant, as right now it has 18 players (at 12:56 am EST Sunday night./Monday morning), all playing hardcore HQ

We have the ability to shift on the fly, one of the very few things they gave us. So if some GCers are in and ready for any game at all, its there. Same goes for switching it to something more popular during slow times. At least that part is easy. Pretty much everything else is a PITA compared to CSS

server browser is fixed? I know they fixed the friends thing, but I just read a minute ago that the browser was still on the to-do list.

Guess I better go find out!

Edit: Nope not yet. It IS better though. Its pulling me about 5000 servers but its only showing about 800 of them. Still a small sample of the 10,000 servers it says are online.

And no GC server.

People running 4 Ghz and sli 480s with 8 gig ram are experiencing the stuttering. If that is what is driving you, wait for a patch not a new CPU.

Yeah, just time till its fixed. But Im still mad.

There is no way to enter it directly as an IP or address. Right now, they have incorporated a "temporary fix" for the server browser as it was flooding and breaking. Their temporary fix is to choose servers at random and present you with a few of them only. So, when you only see 100-300 servers out of 6000-7000+ online, finding ours is pretty lucky.

They said they hoped to have this fixed today (the 10th) but I am not aware of that happening yet.

It is nothing wrong with our server, just a busted game (for now).

There is a thread at the server provider where people ask others to post up if youve seen their server. Many have. Its like alien sightings....pretty funny.

I enjoy the game, and have high hopes. The lag stutters are ridiculous, but hopefully fixed soon.

Been playing single player today.

I had the remote console open and running today with no players in our server it said.

I manually refreshed it, now it wont connect. Gotta run kid to the doctor, Ill be back later.
