  1. I'm pretty sure the buffalos name was primus in orgran trail

So I just downloaded the 1992 version of The Oregon Trail from a abandonware site., A little more advanced then the one I played in school, seems this one has mouse support. :prplwacko: Well I made it with only 2 people "falling off the wagon". Final Score: 2820, good I guess considering I havent played this game in over a decade.

  2. You know this is the year 2006 right Bushwack? I really liked the Journyman Project Chronicles too but I've moved on from 1999. :biglaugha: Oh ya, and I don't have any PC's running windows 95 anymore either. :spin2:

Whats wrong with old games? Don't like chess, poker or Monopoly? You walk past a working Digdug machine or a pinball table, do you not insert a coin? I think we are all gamers here, this is Gamers Coalition right? Or is it Gamers that only play the hot new FPSs that are no older the UT 2004 and Counter Strike Source Coalition?:lol2:

As a wise man once said, "To truely pwn, one must pwn in all games."

  3. Haven't been playing UT too much lately either.

Been hooked on Space Rangers 2. I don't even know what this game is classified as, mostly RPG I guess. The game will really throw you for a loop, for instance when I was thrown in jail. It turned into an old text type resource management game like I played in the 80's. Very cool throwback nicely done. Also the quests are never like you've seen before like transporting Elvis's frozen body to another planet to be unthawed. Many seem like they were written by Douglas Adams, waiting for a quest about him... The game icorporates SrarForce copy protection, too bad because they will loose sales over this and many people will never play this unique game untill they ship with it removed. -Luckily my system has no problems with it.

Shhhh -been playing a bit of Sims 2 also :shrug03:

  4. Sorry, but they need to put the Shock rifle from UT in the list. Successful shock combos are the most satisfying I've ever come across in a FPS. Also using the "spring" power-up in the Carmagedon series will stick with me forever, nothing like sending cars and bodies flying! Hmm think I need to install Carmageddon 2.

  5. Nice! What are the dimensions on that?

It's 17" x 17" and 3/4" thick. I also made a circle frame with the similar outside pattern but is 3 feet in diameter and is 1 1/2" think. I have it hanging in my livingroom at the end of the catherdal wall filling up the triangular space. I made it out of 4 identical pieces tennon and mortised together. I cheated though, most of the work on these frames were done in CAD/CAM then on the CNC. But that's what I like the most, the design part of a project weather it be on paper or on the computer.

  6. Yeah, wood is good! Been working with wood for 16 years now, beautiful medium to play with. Half the fixtures in my house I made: from computer desk to TV cab to fishtank cab. I've been programming a CNC router for about 12 years now. Here's one (of several unfinished pieces  ) I've desinged and routed just for fun.

  7. On the UT side my favorite to be matched against is Wentz. When it comes down to just me and him, one on one, I really never know who will be the victor. Ususally just boils down to who happends to have the best/most weapons.

  8. Arctic Cooling Freezer 64. I would post a link but my firefox won't let me make one so you should just google "arctic cooling freezer 64." The cooler is around $25 - $30 in price.

Yup, I have one of these and is far the best CPU cooling config I've owned. I have my fan thermally controlled by my motherboard BIOS and under heavy gaming hovers around 1200 rpm and is almost dead quiet. Also at that rpm my Athlon 64 hovers around 48 C under full load for hours on end. Just waiting to crank up the speed on my 64, but going to wait till I feel secure about blowing my new CPU.

  9. Nice video, love the walkers!

The demo should have been out by now, I think someone else is paying the bills at this point. Yeah, if we have to upgrade to Vista just to play UT7, it will cause a major kink. I've read up on Vista and there is no reason it's for me. I've been ruinning XP for 2 years now and it does fine.

  10. End game pauses aside, Nep was horrible tonite. This week it seems to be going downhill, little more every nite.

Even when I was playing 3 vs 3 there was still a hint of lag and only got worse when additional players joined. Thought it might be just me but several had similar issues. I play for 2-3 hours on Nep every nite, and I can see the changes.

  11. I just can't bring myself to dropping $500 on a Video card. Just like I don't think I can drop $300 for the Physx card. I need that extra $$$$ for a new set of mains for my home theater. :D

Calling all Pentys! Get in here. =)

Where is Penty? Have'nt seen the boy lately.

  12. i would sell your 7900gt and get a gtx. i'd rather have a single gtx then two gts in sli.

The 7900 GT was what I could affort at the time (pushing it too :)), only days after they went for sale online. I picked up a EVGA that runs at 500/1500 out of the box for $318 shipped and came with City of Villans free. The GTX was well over $500.

Hopefully when UT2k7 ships I can get another 7900 GT for around $200.

Hee are some good benchmark pages: seems the 2 GTs in SLI are considerably faster then a single GTX.

  13. Yeah, 300 bucks seems kinda steep off the bat, but boils down to this for me:

a ) get the Ageia Physx Doohickiebob

    - or -

    b ) get another GeForce 7900 GT

Short term I think shelling out 300 clams on a SLI video setup would be the way to go.

Long term, eh, seems like the whole Voodoo/Glide thing to me.

  14. Hey Dark, good to see you in here. Always glad to see you in the pubs too. Don't let Wentz fool ya, the only thing the new upgrades helped me in is the Lightning gun. Now I finally caught up to him!

Don't listen to metal much anymore, only what I listened to when I was a kid. Tool, NIN, Anthrax, Metalica (Master of Puppets, last good album) Alice and Chains, Suicidal Tendacies, and the like. OK, that stuff isn't death now, but 15 years ago it rocked. I'm mainstream now, I like System of a Down, Disturbed, ect. Now we have XM in the car, so all I listen to in there is the Comedy, Jazz and Unsigned stations.

golly gee! Tek in the house :=

    bacon the forum filter

  15. A few months ago I tried Anachronox, but ran into a bug which kept me for progressing further into the game. From what I read it was a hardware bug with newer systems, but I did like it up untill that piont. Guess I retry it with my older P800/Voodoo2 SLI system in a bit when I get a new KVM switch, mine just died.

  16. Just updated my system 2 weeks ago:

    Athlon 64 3500+ w/ Artic Cooling 64 Pro

Biostar TForce4 SLI -great tweaker board!

2x 512 Kingston HyperX -older but holds up -PC3200 2-3-2-6

eVGA 7900 GT (500/1500) -nagged one before they all sold out :D

250gig Maxtor MaxLine III 16mb STAT -few months old

Hercules Fortissimo III sound -older but sounds great and I like the control applet

going to burn system in for awhile brfore I crank up.

  17. Its not going to be the price of the game that hurts, its the price of SLI vidcards.

//I'm going to need to get jobs at BurgerKing, and McDonalds to pull this off.

    SLI jobs :biglaugha:

  18. I just hope this game doesn't cost 70 dollars or something.

$70 is fine with me. I have my $80 Collector's Edition Warcraft III. One of the worse buys I have ever made, but I hope to get it back on ebay maybe in a few years. :biglaugha:
