Thanks for the info on the routing problems going on down there. Looks like it its the hop going to eqix-peer.ord01.mzima.net thats causing the problems Guess I cant do anything but sit and wait for it to fix itself... in the mean time, I guess I'll see Alvin in MW more often

Since Im playing all the way from Canada, I usually have a latency in the 70's to 90's. Its not great, but no one has ever complained about my lag... but 2 days ago, my latency on West has been 350 - 500...?!?!? Anyone have any ideas why? I can play just fine on Midwest, but its just not the same as West... I dunno why... it just is... Anyways, I really want to get back on West, so if anyone has suggestions on why my lag to ONLY West is so high and how I can fix it (short of moving down to Cali -- which actually might happen in the near future), please lemme know! TIA.

Hi, I recently invited friends over to play on GC from my place. I noticed that to prevent ghosting the servers look for players with the same IP addresses and blinds players after they die to prevent ghosting. Totally understandable, although I just wonder if theres an alternative way to prevent ghosting. Maybe restrict it so I can only view my own team? Actually, I think in general, this technique works even better, since it can prevent people who ghost over external comm programs like ventrilo, etc.. I dont think theres a problem with ghosting on GC, nor do I have itentions of ghosting, I just like playing with friends at my place (and it puts my three gaming machines to good use ) and its just no fun to sit and stare at a blank screen, especially when I die early

I think the custom map night idea is cool (but I've never been to it cuz I work weekend evenings). But i think it'd also be cool to have other 'custom' nights that restrict weapons on the stock maps. i.e. scouts & knives, pistols only, knives only, <insert_weapon_here> only, etc... Maybe its just me, but I'd like to be killed by something other than m4/ak more often And does anyone miss those VIP maps from the old skool CS? I know there were never popular, but I thought they were a cool concept.

Although I do agree that the auto-balancer should move people based on skill/score, I doubt it'll make a difference to the outcome. The team that works together will, more often than not, win (assuming they have a good plan). Its pretty rare that one person will make a huge difference. Additionally, does the balancer work with team size difference as a ratio or as absolute team sizes? i.e. does it only switch when there's a 3 man difference? Cuz 3 vs 6 is a lot worse than 11 vs 14... but im just babbling, I dont care too much... I die every round, regardless of which team I'm on

I never noticed a problem with piranesi... chateau seems a less popular whenever I'm on. Anyways, I've never liked compound that much (too much sniping), but it'll be a nice change i guess
