    Having dropped in for a quick visit to prevent myself from being purged I figured I maight as well post something relevant. I played as a member of a clan in the UT GOtY for years. The problems I encountered were primarily related to time constraints. Managing the clansite forums and server were a major investment of time and effort. GC has a popular series of public servers. Most of the time that I play, there are a minimum of bots present. As a result of this popularity I too have been kicked. I don't mind too much because I've been too cheap, and unable to commit to the steady practice schedule so I've never sent in the dollars. That and nobody ever asked me to join (sniff). It would IMHO be better if the lowest PPH player were the first to go. I also realize that it could be me more often in that special situation . When I do occasionally get locked out by this popularity I do think about joining. I've never had a bad experience with anyone at a GC site. Although Tek does get a bit chatty, no offense intended Tek.

    Changing the subject slightly, if I don't reply to your messages in any game situation, it's nothing personal. I'm a lousy typist, ('cause I'm old), and when I begin to type anything a manta usually runs over me, unless it's Bushwack, he uses his raptor to do it. My microphone on my headset doesn't work, but I can hear most of the server side conversations. It's probably better that you can't hear me when the mantas run over me.

    If I haven't asked you to join it's because I'm another old fart that doesn't type well and about every message I send results in my death! :( Heck at 52 I think there are only a few older than me (Primus is a pup). I didn't join for a long time too. It wasn't the $$$. I was having more than enough fun on the pubs and I didn't really think about it. Then I started feeling guilty. I was having so much fun with this game and had only contributed the initial cost of the game itself to the UT cause. I really felt I needed to contribute and GC was always seemed the best run of the bunch. Anyway I'm happy I joined though it hasn't gained me any sympathy from the other GC members. They still happily smash me as often as possible though they do share tips on how to smash back. :smiling2:

    I was on the server that night and Cannon def Hax...

     

    For that matter, so does Bushwack. I shot them once each and neither died. Not only that, but after jumping from my raptor and pelting Bushwack with flak, he shot me and I still died....and he didn't...I mean come on!!

    Although...i have to say...Cannon and Bushwack are so good, when I first started, I could'a swore...(actually, I think I did...and was subsequently warned by Flitter) that hax were in play.

     

    There were times when (on Dawn) that I had lightening gun and was hidden...I mean hidden...and popped up for just 1/10 of a sec to shoot Cannon in the head, and BOOOOMMM>... he blasted my melon before I even could put a bead on him...

     

    Def...a haxor.

    This definitely sounds more like Bushwack than me! Except for when I'm haxing of course! ;) I picked my name because that's pretty much what I feel like when playing!

    Gosh! I didn't know I had gotten so popular! :spin2:

     

    I caught just a little bit of this guy ranting at me during play a couple of days ago. I couldn't even guess what he was talking about. I suspect it's no surprise to most of you that I'm no where near clever enough to even understand how to go about running some kind of cheating hack. I did notice one bug while playing when he was ranting. The double damage icon kept appearing out of place and I could not collect double damage. Perhaps this was just another symptom of a UT2K4 bug that choose to manifest itself at the time? My guess is that this the only day he saw me cheating which you'd think would give him at least a clue.

     

    Did anyone respond directly to him?

     

    Now, about this "haxing".... Is this Flitter refering to my supposed cheating or that I was coughing in to the mic. I know I had a problem a few weeks back coughing but I'm not doing this all the time am I??? Like I really expect a straight answer. I'll never use teamspeak again.... ;)

    I'm not sure where to load it from but I just played this map in the pubs and found it interesting. No flying vehicles but a neat mini tank that most likely is just a Scorpion with a different look and a rapid fire gun but it was fun to drive! The map was pretty much a tank war with many different tank variations. I didn't find any avrils meaning being on foot was dangerous.

    You won't belive how frustrated I am sometimes behind the mic. When I lag (due to MediaCom of course) and die.....ugh.....I pound on the table, scream obsenities, throw chairs....good thing that to talk on the mic you have to press a button and it's not on all the time...

     

    Did I say too much? :unsure:

     

    Not that it will make you feel any better but Mediacom can be just as frustrating just west of Chicago.
