  1. Ok lets take a poll, who thinks i should follow goofus maximus's advice?

Im not sure if washing an electronic would make it better but i could be wrong.

I look at it more as a case of "it can't get any worse"! Washing keyboards works, so I don't think washing the mouse could be much worse. As long as you don't try to use them while they're still wet, it's perfectly okay.

  2. I'm a soup AND salad person at Olive Gardens, but as a precursor to a meal, I choose soup over salad any day, though I choose "none of the above" if at all possible.

  3. I personally think the AWP is lame, solely because of the quickswitch. With the right skills, it becomes an unstoppable killing machine! Just watch St3d on one of his killing rampages with his "run - scope/shoot - run" tactics that pick people off literally as soon as he sees them, 90% of the time, near or far.

The only tactics that I've seen have success against these AWP-gods is:

A.) Get into close range before they notice you, then run in circles around them and glock/sub 'em to death, or

B.) rush in pair with a good AK/Colt shooter, and let yourself be killed while he kills the AWPer-of-Doom.

    B doesn't work well, either.

  4. Ha! I learned in classic CS beta 6, back when my "L33t" system was capable of pulling 19 fps average in Half-Life mods! (13 and below I considered unplayable, back then)

Since then, the majority of my scores have been in the *bad* to **Horrendously bad I'm gonna stop playing this stupid game it makes me so mad ARGH!** range, with occasional flashes of uber-l33t-hood for no good reason. If you can learn to have fun while getting your butt kicked in humiliating round after round, then CS:S can be fun!

  5. I'd say just wash it, let it dry for a week or so, and see if it works. If not, buy a Logitech (they have screws to take apart) mouse in it's place. I've had mine apart a couple of times, the last being to get the cat-hair out of the mousewheel mechanism, and epoxy a loose left-click switch.

  6. Fixing the round-start bug somehow, and letting it be known on the other servers, would do the trick, I think. That's the only reason the population is down right now; everyone bails when the server acts up, and it loses critical mass. I've ended up in the ESF server for my Scouty-goodness-fix...

Some custom maps would be nice too, though! ;)

  7. As a person, who in my early youth, made a chain of paperclips, and stuck one end in upper right and the other in the lower left, of the Church's wall socket (I was conducting a scientific endeavor!), I can't cast stones in this debate. :D

My only advise is paranoia above all!

I still remember the yellow glow of the paper clips in the second before the fuse blew!

  8. My once stellar, and now long-in-the-tooth computer:

    AthlonXP 3000+ (400mhz fsb)

    Biostar M7NCD Pro

1 Gig Kingston HyperX PC3200 in Dual Mode

    eVGA 6600GT AGP

    Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

    Samsung SP0411N ATA-100 40 Gig HDD

Samsung DVD R/W drive with dual layer support

    Thermaltake TR2 430 Watt PSU

5 year old CTX 15" CRT monitor and cheapy $15 Creative stereo speakers.

Oh, and a Logitech Wheelmouse Optical

  9. I really can't tell much difference between an unsilenced Colt and an AK47, but the Colt wins when it's silenced.

For all that, I prefer the Scout over the rest anyway!

  10. Still stuck in AthlonXP/AGP-land myself, with an eVGA 6600GT AGP card.

Alas, saving for dental work for over $1600-worth of seriously rotted teeth comes first. Anyone know a good cheap (free) Prosthodontist? Near St. Louis, MO?

I just wanted 'em pulled, but even dental students have this moral objection to non-esthetic solutions...

  11. Hmmm.  I thought it was obvious from the name.  How many guys even THINK about dustbunnies?

    Well..........I have a friend that has a bunnie for a pet..........and he's a guy.....i think?

See what I mean? They don't even know what a dustbunny is! ;) Those balls of dust that form under sofas, and behind refrigerators...

Same as I got with my Hypertrace long ago. I get no packet loss at all, except ingame, though my ping sure does swing up and down, don't it? :boing:

I think Source is just being confused, and reporting a choke situation as a loss situation. I seem to remember the steam forums mentioning an "out of order packet problem" with Source's netcode...

  13. You just enjoy the easy kills! ;) Thanks!

I'll add the odd long-winded rant and/or tirade! :bang:

  14. Hello everyone! Since I'm getting "server out of date" errors at the moment, I figured I might as well join the forums! I've been meaning to for only about 6 months...
