Hmmm. Insanely expensive not-very-upgradeable quickly outdated console, or gas for my car? Which should I save for?

I guess, I'll ignore the name, and go with the Way of the Wii...

The technology? Yes. The infrastructure to make and fuel these cars in quantity, at a price we can afford? Not yet. The ones with alternative fuel cars at the moment don't stop to think what would happen if their fuel of choice suddenly had a 2 million barrel per day demand on it.

As gas gets more expensive, conservation and Thermal Depolymerization plants along with nuclear and eventually Orbiting Solar Power Plants (I can dream, can't I?) will become more mainstream.

It seems to use the Doom 3 engine, downloads through steam, and really needs a LOT of work. Bad acting, textures that don't look like they're using a state of the art engine, and bugs galore.

Still, there were lots of monsters, and it kind of reminded me of "Take No Prisoners" (DX5 vintage game; a top-down shooter from long ago, which I really liked).

Time to break out the bicycles and motor-scooters!

Anyone know of some good free online tutorials for "painting" with graphics programs? I can't seem to get this seascape to look right...

In a moment of boredom, I had fun playing around with the Gimp to make these little doodads, and I was wondering what sort of fun things you all do with the Gimp or Photoshop in moments of boredom.

Canada has lots of history! The War of 1812 comes to mind, where we went up and caused a ruckus in Canada, then the English came and burnt down the original White House!

Then there was the French and Indian war, which cut off the New Orleans French settlers from the Quebec French settlers, and set the stage for the Revolutionary war in the US... PBS had a really good special on that war, a while back.

I've had ping-spike problems with Zone Alarm, but Windows Firewall is perfectly okay with all my games. I just don't feel safe without a firewall keeping those evil HAXXORS out of my computer. That's why I also learned how to password-protect the hidden "Guest" account in Windows XP Home.

If your card (obviously both 6600 and 9800) were overheating, it sounds like the case might need improvement in it's venthilation, so the fans aren't blowing reheated in-case air against the heatsinks. You may even have to switch to water-cooling, to get the heat out of the case without putting in so many case fans that your computer sounds like a jet engine...

I don't think the steering would be good on that thing, unless it has the special control arm that decouples the shock absorbtion from the steering control...
