  1. I will more than likely end up living in West Virginia and commuting to Leesburg due to the high cost of living in that area. Ouch.

Yeah, I wish I payed more attention to COL around here before moving from Cleveland. I live in the Ashburn area, and work in Sterling. Apartment prices here are insane.

  2. I have never had issues with any of my Samsung displays, TV or PC Monitor. Great quality, durability for an ok price. I couldnt be happier. :shrug03:

  3. W.O.W...

The GPS unit got unplugged as I did some maintenance right before the flight, and I did not notice until up in the air. It works though as long as I do a proper pre-flight check!

  4. pretty awesome dude

Thanks, I need to somehow clean up the horizonal lines which may be from interference from the ESC behind the motor. I will need to get some ferrite rings and wind the video wiring around it to see if that helps clear it up. Other than that its pretty much done unless I decide to get an anetenna tracking system, then there is some more work to do.. unfortunately the one I want is out of stock at the moment.

  5. Well, got a short flight in, I wanted to take it easy and slow, but was having a little difficulty with the wind and the fact the plane is a little heavier now. I landed in the middle to tweak some tx settings and then went back up in the air. I did not pay much attention to antenna placement for my video link, which is why it gets bad at spots.

    Also I crash, enjoy!

Sorry SJ, when I said PC, I meant Windows-Based PCs. Oh, and I know allll about boot-camp, so don't go there either :)

heh, I think arguing the Term "PC" to include mac is silly, regardless if its a "personal computer(most are nowadays). Especially since the apple commercials use the acronym to single out windows computers entirely. But to answer the question, it would depend on the job and the qualification the applicants had and not looks, at least to a degree. If I didn't then I would not be able to justify my boss hiring me with my hippy hair and unkempt facial hair..

  7. lol.... oh noeeeessss! :freak3:

Wow, in a way with the heat lamp one, the eye melting down made it look like the chocolate bunny was staring at it, before his face fully melted away. sort of creepy.

*edited due to my crappy spelling :P

  8. KLR is strong on my list of next bikes!

Currently I ride a DR650 with mikuni pumper carb and opened airbox. I enjoy it alot but the DR's seat leaves much to be desired. I hear the KLR is much better in that regard. The DR I keep around here is more suited for commute and gravel roads/highway, but needs a bigger tank desperatly..

I have another DR650 I left in Ohio with the same crappy seat but with modified suspension and D606 tires and an IMS 4.9gallon(i think) tank. Its a hoot for short highway bursts to non highly technical offroad trails. If I had a bigger garage I would have them both here in Virginia, as well as a KLR I think.

Let me know if you get the KLR and your opinion on it, it may replace my light duty DR and that would leave me funds to get a DRZ400SM as well :D

  9. I got the eagle tree system which comes with a data logger and On screen display module. I still need to pick up a few adapters/connectors to do what I want it to do on the plane, as well as figure out how I want to view it on the ground.

I got it temporarily rigged to my rc car, just need it to warm up a bit so I can range test with it before I put it in an aerial chassis. Probably going to test it using the tv in my living room and receiver sitting on my balcony.

I wish my spektrum dx7 had the auxilarry dial like my old dx5(i think) did, I do not want a head tracking system but the ability to move the camera left/right would be beneficial. Wonder if I can mod one of the channels to do this..

  10. Well since nobody chimed in that must mean I am the first here. :)

, though I will actually get GPS data working on my HUD. First I am trying it out on my rc car while I get the details figured out, eventually I will run better antenna's on my base station gear as well as mod my TX for longer range. Seems like a good hobby, besides for gaming of coarse :D

Oh and I will record video's on my first flight, even if I crash lol

  11. Most of my music is cd's that I ripped myself, but they have been damaged over time. I disabled syncing and just use itunes and manually copy the music over to it when I am in my ipod section. Works for me, I will be crippled if/when the ipod dies though..

  12. So, I just decided to try and get into this hobby. I have been flying rc helicopters for a bit, small household ones as well as a T-Rex 450 pro that I got around a year ago. I recently bought a smaller/medium sized electric RC plane and just picked up a camera/tx kit to play around with, anyone else ever try it?

Currently I am still building the rig as well as my ground station, going to pick up a small lcd tv or something while I decide if I want to get the video glasses or what not. Going to use a small 1u power supply and an inverter to power my ground stuff, and use an extra lipo battery in the bird to keep my camera power separated from the flight power.

I am looking for suggestions from others who have either done it, or if they had any good suggestions on better ways to deal with some of the obstacles I will face. I am somewhat RF challenged but am learning as I go. I chose 900mhz for the video link as my rc transmitter is on 2.4ghz.

Yes I plan to eventually web cast some of it if I can :)

  13. Hope this helps...although it doesn't sound good :(

One of the random posts I read talked about the 3650 transmission and said it might help to switch fluid types and fill to a lower level, so it makes sense. I plan on retiring this one eventually from daily service so I guess when I decide to mod it up a year or so later I might get into the transmission, could be fun :P I guess I will deal with it until that time or it blows up lol.

Do you do any of that kind of work, if I do ever tackle that, what special tools would I need? obviously source out the manuals I need would be first. I have done quite a few top end jobs on motorcycles and some truck clutch work but never cracked open a transmission. I would make it an extended project probably over a few weeks to few month span as my time fit. Or would you suggest leave it to the professionals(whats the fun?)

As I think about it more, it seems like filling to a lower level might just make it so the fluid warms quicker, making it less pronounced. What a way to hide the problem lol

  14. Yeah the mustang is not hydraulic as far as I know. and its not dragging when I depress it or release. Just that I need to let the RPM's fall out of the powerband if I don't want to force it into gear. If I ride it aggresivly while cold second has to be manhandled and I have a good change of grinding third eventually until its warmed up, after its warm then its all gravy.

Honestly it reminds me more of a motorcycle gearbox more than anything which should not be case considering the synchro's and all. Double clutching can help but that may just be because by the time I do it the engine rpm has dropped enough to make it effortless?

Perhaps I just need to get a cold weather car and appreciate my baby for what it is?

  15. I have read online, while searching about issues with my 2002 Mustang transmission, that people have had lot of issues, mostly cold (<40f) with the models of my car in that age range. I have had these issues as well, but since this is my first stick I did not know it was out of the ordinary. Until The whole drive train warms up I have to granny shift the hell out of it. I was wondering what I could do to alleviate this issue during the winter months, as I use it for a daily driver, as well as a recreational vehicle?

Also I get a slight noise in cold while in fifth on cold days, sounds like a VERY quiet slight buzzing noise, constant but random with quarter seconds pauses in between. It does not go away with the clutch in but does when I shift to neutral, even at speed.

  16. Hopefully it will be all detailed and I can pick it up tomorrow at lunch and get some good pictures of it up.

WEWT! enjoy your new ride. I remember driving my Mustang GT home the first time, it was great. Though I was still getting the feel for driving a stick at the time(rode motorcycles but never drove a stick before).

  17. Telecom switch technician for one of the smaller national CDMA network's. I work with the cell site technicians from the switch side, the rf and fixed network engineers as well as maintain the local facility equipment. The equipment I maintain is a mixture of Solaris servers, different vendors routers(because god forbid they stick with the same!) as well as proprietary equipment from our vendor.
