  1. unrestrict awps. The awp restriction leads to awpers being baited for their guns and to people picking them up at the end of rounds and ruining it for some of us. Enforce no sitting in spawn for minutes on end, dont enforce awps. Heck, awps arent even as good as p90s, you should be restricting those >_>. I figure it would require similar amounts of strategy with only 2 awps and more than 2, you just have to use different strategies to get around and have to peek awpers less. Anyway, with admins giving 16k out to losing teams, it wouldn't get that terribly one-sided (teams won't save together to buy 7 awps all at once), it would give a chance for more people to learn how to awp without me getting upset because i dont have one, and it would be more fun. On stock night I see at most 3 awps on a team.

    tookey............its stock now

    you're stock now

  3. dont replace lost temple pro, replace the lost temple 2 custom.

Also, mookie, check out de_ballast. Designed for competitive play by a few cal admins and they played it in preseason, I've only heard good things so far.

  4. My mom's labs have 9 computers between them. She's always getting confused and losing files and has poor computer organization, so i wanted to make a network drive so that she (and her post docs) can all save files onto one hard drive. This would also make it extraordinarily easy to reformat in case of tragedy. Here's the problem, the computers aren't on any good kind of network. The arkansas state network doesn't really act like a network, just more like an isp for the university, so is there anyway I can do this? Locally host some kind of dropbox server for all the computers or something? All I have to work with is extra hard drives and internet access.

  5. the arena pvp in aoc is glitchy and very underpopulated

ffa pvp is fun, but arena events require more skill and are more challenging

also the ffa pvp is kind of broken without a karma system

  6. How about a slight change to your second build...

    http://feats.goonheim.com/ranger#t0a5b5t1a...5y1t2a5b5h3j3p3

Dropped crossbow specialization + added toughness.

Otherwise it looks good. :) I'll probably roll this build or something very similar to it.

lol unclean, you have to copy the link where it says to copy, not the address bar link, you posted the same build :P

I figured 2% evasion would be good to get out of some combos that lead to bleeding/knockdown etc. Even if they hit you for 95% damage the effect will go through under toughness. Also, if I'm primarily pinning down and kiting, the toughness would be a non issue, but I'll try playing around with all 3 builds later when I get higher level

  7. Im thinking about doing

    http://feats.goonheim.com/ranger#t0a5b5e5i...2p3t2a5b5h3j3p3

    or

    http://feats.goonheim.com/ranger#t0a5b5t1a...5y1t2a5b5h3j3p3

for a pvp focused ranger, depending on how effective marked target is, and whether it procs a lot on people, or is more of a boss debuff...

Im also rolling a conqueror for pve (I <3 paladins, they just tend to suck at pvp); but I haven't looked at the feats for it in depth yet

    any suggestions/comments? ;o

  8. have they said anything about how itll handle immense traffic once it gains popularity?

s3. it's all about the scalability of the cloud. and, unlike most high growth startups, they wisely chose to build their own framework using php, not some cheap ripoff *cough* ruby on rails *cough*. (google ref: twitter ruby scale)

just break down and ask for an invite :D

    fine, you win...invite? akatookey@gmail.com

  9. "don't worry about how it works, it just does."

nobody said that, but i did say "it just works" as in "you don't need to hack anything, deal with random crashes, or blah blah blah. it just works."

    as for how it works:

"All transport of file data and file metadata occurs over SSL. Files are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored on our backend."

things are stored on S3, which also has layers of authentication, too.

    pass the soylent green, plz.

have they said anything about how itll handle immense traffic once it gains popularity?

(hands you a people candy bar)

I also guess I misunderstood the context of what he was saying, I blame having just woken up.

  10. I've used http://virtualdrive.ws/ instead, but I'll talk to the creator about implementing a drag and drop folder for his site too ;P. I also don't like the whole "don't worry about how it works, it just does."

"don't worry about whats in soylent green, just eat it"

  11. A little note about monthly fees. I was very skeptical at first as well, but before I started playing MMO's I was buying

a minimum of one game per month at a cost of $65.00+ a piece. I think I've bought 2 games since picking up WoW

about 2 years ago. You make alot of friends & theres always more to do. I would say your main concern about MMO's

should be whether you have the time to sink into them, not the monthly fee.

true but for a college student like myself spending the extra 15 bucks a month is too much for me when i compare to cs:s where i dont need anything other than internet access which i already will have at school for school work and such. plus i cant justify spending the 15 bucks a month unless i require myself to play x amount of hours which during the school year isn't always possible if i actually want decent grades.

as far as the money going to upgrade the game/make improvements. i dont buy it, sorry, but look at old games like diablo 2 for one all those updates and such came out without paying a monthly fee. i really just think 15 dollars is outrageous cause are you really getting 50 cents a day in updates per day doubtful. another thing there are plenty of free servers that i've played on with mmo's that i often find the game play to be better and faster pace. I've played on a few different illegal lineage 2 servers for awhile that spend up the game play not taking hours on end just to make a minimal progress. granted it didnt have the huge player based compared to if i were to pay to play per month but still enough people to be able to pvp and such.

i guess enjoy paying to play your mmo's and instead i'm play them for free via illegal servers. oh btw i never spent a dime on illegal Lineage 2 either.

Free servers are illegal, retail lineage 2 was better. The slower pace meant that you had to pick your battles more carefully in pvp because the xp loss on death was uber. Diablo 2 on the other hand, didn't have massive servers, and only had one big content update (1.10). Also, they deleted your character for inactivity, so they saved space. So they didn't need money for server maintenance etc. The illegal servers you played Lineage 2 on made up for the necessary monthly fee by raking in huge profits off donations and giving richer players better gear. 15 dollars a month is 3 trips to fast food, I can give that up to play a game with all of my friends and have fun. Guild Wars makes up for it by having districted play to spread the load out over many many servers, I guess they get money for the bandwidth because of how popular it is overseas. I hear they make a killing with pvp stuff in Asia. Any other mmo you ever mention has had a monthly fee, or was terrible, or had a donation based system.

  12. im ordering this tomorrow, from what i hear from friends the world freeforall pvp is kind of lineage2 style. Ill probably spend more time hitting random people i see and provoking fights, and less time levelling, so it should be a great time :D.

  13. minimum rates are enforced by mani, sorry that you think people are still rate hacking

edit: also, i was just joking when i called you guys bad, but resorting to saying you have a cal team doesnt make you look that great either ;p

I have cevo-p source proof, and cal-m cod4 proof and im garbage at both games xD

  14. put PAM on it, if you want to simulate cal rules...cal has a config to download on their site

    caleague.com

goto cod4 on the right, and goto files

if its a good server, and s&d, with pam on it, and good maps (no wetwork, etc)...I might be able to get you a decent amount of traffic

Also, if you just do cal MOTW, i.e. this week do strike 24/7 last week was pipeline, whatever map is being played for the matches, lots of people will practice there

  15. skorpion with silencer is same damage and range as an m4, but faster fire rate

all this stuff was figured out in the competitive scene, and the standard guns are m4/ak, the first sniper rifle (the r700 is the only one allowed, no semi autos), and the ak-74u/mp5 ....those work out the best after the p90 got hit with the nerf bat in PAM

the g36c shoots as strong as an m4, just slower, no reason to use it

ak74 is easier to control while youre ironsighted than an mp5, but most spec ops in competitive play just flail around without sighting, so thats just personal preference

  16. Wow I'm at like lv 11... :(

I'm willing to bet 1/4 of the 55s you see in the server didn't get it by going from 1-55. There's an exploit out there where you can get to 55 easily... but this involves downloading multiplayer data from various websites out there.

It's more fun to make the long climb than to do that... takes the enjoyment of leveling and earning guns out of the game.

my team raced each other from 1-55 :P...took about 6 hours to get to 40 and then they quit :twitch:

I have no idea how they do it but I'll try and get them into gc's server sometime if they arent scrimming
