Even though you have that 50 dollar limit... I'd suggest the Logitech G5 or the Razor. They both are pretty much the same. They use the same laser. Its a 2000dpi mouse. I upgraded from the mx518 and I loved this G5 that I have. I paid about 60 bucks for it. I can notice the difference in DPI.. don't know if others can.

You can notice a difference, but I personally feel its not necessary. DPI wars are stupid unless youre a graphics artist or twitch gamer. But if you notice it in CSS you're probably playing with your sens too high.

D) 95% of the movie he is looking at a direction that could have easily been called out by a teammate or determined by sound. I only saw one awp clip where he pre-aimed through a wall, usually he aims at a crack. The real question is whether his reflexes are that good, and whether his ability to find the center of his screen is that good.

I'm a logitech guy, but I know some people like Razer - thoughts on those? I know some people think they're crap and some people swear by them.

I don't use one because I don't like the feel. Also they started the entire dpi wars escapade, and thereby needlessly increased prices of mice. A lot of people I play with noticed that the copperhead and g5 both skip enough to be noticeable, therefore i'd recommend deciding between the diamondback and mx518. Also the g5 lost a button .

I use a wireless mouse, and i can pwn tookey... ...So don't listen to him. If you want wireless do it. I love my G7 i've had it for just under a year, batteries still hold a strong charge (2 of them)

any brief period you aren't using your mouse, it needs to reset its signal with the base. This is to conserve energy over using a constant signal. Admittedly, the delay caused by this is minimal, but you'll notice it when you put your mouse down for a sec and have to get back to fragging. You dont have this problem, or any other wireless delay people have noticed with usb. I also had a huge problem with my desk being kind of cluttered and the placement of my base station when I used an mx1000. It was advertised as the same signal speed as usb, but I still like the mx518 better.

I'm thinking about getting a nice gaming-grade mouse. I've never owned one, with the best mouse I've used to date being a logitech MX310.

 

Since I sold my gaming computer, I'm left with my laptop which, while capable of running the games fine, has left me with only my bluetooth wireless mouse. Fine for web and low-end design stuff, but major crappage for games.

 

I'm looking at a Logitech MX518 for $40 with free shipping on newegg right now. My criteria:

 

1. I'm not at all opposed to wired mice - don't need wireless convenience when gaming.

2. I don't want to spend over $50 on it.

3. It needs to be durable enough to last a while. I don't want the thing turning to crap after a year.

 

Suggestions? I know a lot of people like the MX518, but I wanted to get some other opinions before I jump on anything. Thanks guys!

1. You don't want to play FPS with a wireless mouse, ever.

2. You don't need 30000000 dpi, some people like it, but it's far and away too excessive

I use windows because a)I'm used to it and I have no problems with it.

At the same time I have no problems with mac either. Soooo, in order to answer whats the better OS for me question? I pick the one I know about because frankly, I don't have the time to learn new things.

most of the mac supporters almost always assume several things

a) windows users are dumb

windows users can't take care of their computer

c) windows users would rather have a dell instead of a mac

For me personally, all three of these are false. I haven't gotten adware/spyware/viruses in who knows how long, I've worked in IT and am not dumb. I do have to update windows regularly, boohoo, it does it overnight and I don't notice. I haven't bluescreened since I built this computer. My windows isn't bloated, or fat, because I took care of that during the install process. I also installed my own theme, so my computer is visually appealing to me.

I do agree with one thing, I'd rather have a mac over a dell laptop. Above those though, I'll keep my self built windows desktop. As far as laptops go, I would either build my own or get a mac. I completely agree that most namebrand windows pcs are poop. My biggest complaint about macs? I don't really have one except that their users won't stop trying to convert me when I'm perfectly fine and hassle free with my windows comp.

the reason you dont want to use dmz is because its analagous to running out of a trench naked in ww1. It doesn't affect steam's performance.

well for the past week i havnt been able to connect with steam anymore therefore unallowing me to play sweet sweet cs

 

everytime i try to connect everything seems normal, steam says its updating, then starts to connect but after a long time connecting i get a message

With that said, on with the show! This movie chronicles amazing rounds as played by Pondfiller. He has a nasty 1.6 awp, so nasty that there is a chunk of the 1.6 community that thinks he cheats, or at least has the center of his screen marked. Decide for yourselves!

Things to take away: He generally has a good burst pattern and spray control, which may pertain to you if you play 1.6. If not then examine his ability to constantly change positions while defending a point (he gets a pick then falls back to a new angle, etc.) Also examine his ability to check everything while retaking a site or taking a site for the first time.

Things not to worry about: OMGQUICKSCOPE...seriously this is some of the most ridiculous unscoped awping I have ever seen. Holy. Carp.

Go to that file in your cstrike folder and delete it. See if that helps.

Before you think this is a ridiculous/sarcastic tip, usually cs:s will download any files you still need from the server you're on...so it really will probably work.

Also on the TF2 server? And if it isn't, should it be? I don't think I'm banned from it (haven't tried), but I definitely don't want to overstep my bounds without asking.

I didn't want this to turn into an angry thread and it has, so I'd appreciate if a mod closed it or something. It's just making me look like an aggressor when I'm not trying to be.

In response to your posts, I would say that this is a game, plain and simple. As such it is ment to be fun. If it was a sport, then I could understand the idea of trying to win being greater than trying to have fun. But its not. Do I get frustrated when I get destroyed by someone in this game? Heck yeah! And thats the crux of this issue. At what point does the fun of the majority trump the fun of the one? If time after time one guy, or group of people, create a atmosphere of 'unfun' (heh) on the server, what should we do? Regardless of whether it is intentional or not, 'we' need to address it in some fashion. Can we make everyone better, and thus create a more level playing field? No. Can we remove the thorn in the side of fun? Yes, but that seems pretty extreme to me. Can we talk to those who are causing this outcry and come to some sort of agreement, thus maintaining the fun environment we all love and cherish? Yes, and that seems like the best way to go. So what do you think Tookie? Given that we can not make people play better, or work as a team, what are our options? Would you like to just leave, I for one would not like to set that presidence. Or would it be better for everyone if we shuffled the teams if it gets to be 0-4 or so? I also think it would be fun to trade the 2 worst players on the losing side for the two best players on the winning side. Heck, the 2 sent to the winning side might even get some kills and have fun then!

 

In the end, we are here to have fun. Thats all. You shouldn't expect anything else from us.

The real point of this thread was as a response to admins yelling at us for stacking when teams weren't all that stacked. This does happen really frequently, and its really aggravating, but whatever...I guess its falling on deaf ears and I'll be forced not to play with friends as long as an admin thinks its not right.

I still maintain that two of us on one team isn't stacked, and 3 of us on one team with 1 of us on the other, is still not stacked. But we get yelled at for it anyway. I frankly don't care if I'm one of the 2, or one of the 3, but I guess that if some admins do, I will respect their decision. This wasn't really supposed to turn into a fight the power kinda thread, and I guess it did, so I apologize.
