  1. To put them on the front, the mobo must have a header for usb or firewire, the specs will tell you that (some boards call them headers; others just connectors).

Basically, it's a 4 or 6 (can't remember exactly) wire plug that runs from the mobo to the front ports. If you have to buy the ports, they'll come with the wire. You may also have to enable them thru a jumper or bios.

    Cool case :)

EDIT: looks like pic #7 on that link shows the wires that connect to the mobo.

  2. Just got a new comp fairly recently and it came with a 120gb hard drive. Looked and saw that I have about 100gb free on it. I'm sure that'll shrink soon enough, but I would like to try something.

I know I've heard some of you talking about dual booting a windows and linux system. Are there any good websites that you used to explain this process? Or did you just follow what's with the Linux materials?

My thoughts are to do a clean sweep and partition the drive up some, then possibly boot from 2 diff partitions. I've not formatted yet since I got the thing.

Also, could you triple boot, say using xp/win98/linux?

Any suggestions or research aides would be appreciated.

EDIT: Oops, shoulda posted this in servers, admins, and clients forum. Please move if necessary.

  3. ILL SUE!

    -tWeAkEd

    I could see it now:

Bailiff: Matter of Tweaked v. Hurricane

Judge: You're suing him for h4xing your comp, huh?

    Tweaked: Yes, your honor.

Judge: But your name is tweaked?

    Tweaked:

Judge: Didn't you know before this that it's Buckeye country here?

    Tweaked: 8P)

Judge: All Hurricanes are h4x0rs.................case dismissed!!

    :D

Anyways, can't help ya there. Prolly some screwed up video driver tho.

  4. Well, since we started talking about it........

No other weapon in the game gets as much advantage from the fastswitch as the AWP. Realism isn't really the issue. It is a game without a lot of real aspects to it. Unloading a colt then switching to pistol is unrealistic as fast as it happens. But neither gun is better b/c of it.

The point, I think, is that the AWP's power is meant to be tempered by a slower shooting speed. That seems to be what was intended. This is completely short circuited with the fastswitch. Some guys are shooting them almost as fast as deagles. And when it's one-shot one-kill a lot of the time, that's just, as m0m says, bullpoop.

Just b/c it can be done with a script doesn't necessarily make it legit - and if this "script" is only utilizing some form of the lastinv command, then maybe the game is flawed a bit. I dunno.....just know it doesn't seem very balanced the way some play the AWP.

  5. I'm assuming you've already got hud_fastswitch set to "1" in config.

"q" is default bound to "lastinv" which gives you fast access b/w pistol and awp/scout with fastswitch. Pressing 2 for pistol then 1 for awp, then q from there on out to switch. A convenient reason to go to the WADS setup.

Still urks me about that AWP/pistol switch. I'd call that fastswitch an exploit, just doesn't seem intended. But, that's a different topic.

  6. Oh I believe the game would allow the bullet to go through that wall, sure.  I don't believe the game, as intended, allows crosshairs to find heads behind 5 foot of concrete though....

I'd consider this as much an exploit as the ceiling issues on italy or assault (to name a couple). Glitches that people learn and use to their advantage unfortunately.

  7. Go check out the damage levels for just 1 shot at that first angle MRX.

I did the whole thing in 10 mins, the 93 damage came from 3 shots thru the wall. As you can see from the pic, it took a few shots to find my victim even tho i knew where he was ;) (well and some of it was the usual fooling around). That's why I said it would be one in a million. If it's legit, it's extremely lucky is the only point I'll make after doing that tho. What are the odds of that shot plus it being recorded?

  8. yeah, I saw that goot, but...... :P

It appears the KD7 is only $5 more with better specs, more pci slots, etc. Just seemed strange it'd only be that little more for that much more.

I dunno. Don't think I'm missing anything, but put it out there to see.

  9. NCAA basketball on PS2 all afternoon with Justin and Jer, pool for a few hours at a bar I used to haunt a lot, and poker till 5 a.m. A good friend from Indiana surprised me and came also. Gotta say that made for a great b-day party!! :D Only thing missing was the CS, we never really got a crack at it.

    And Jer was fine.

  10. Thanks!!! Always good to be reminded that you're getting old........

DJ - I switched it back, had gone to another a week ago, but...

    Other's I've considered are:

    mrx3.gifmrx4.gifmrx5.gif

I kinda get a kick outta the simpsons :)

  11. All but one runs sensitivity at 2.0 or below, and they all use AMD chips. C'mon, what's the joke here? B) Anyways, how do you compensate for recoil that well with sensitivity at 2.0? I mean, it looks like there's no recoil at all. Or is that just how demo playback is?

  12. Just use this version of geekplay: Geekplay

It's a lot simpler than the newer version. It basically just creates a file association for the demos. I download demos to desktop and then just double-click to play them. Very simple.
