If you haven't you might want to look at the west loop. I lived in an apartment there for a year before I bought my condo and loved it (in fact I'm looking at moving back). It's really close to the highway if you are planning on driving, as well as the metra if that ends up working out.

It can be a bit noisy if you are not used to city living, but it never bothered me.

I'm so in. Let's hope it's not the hottest weekend of the year again...

How old are you? Single / married? What is your definition of a fun night out? Do you have friends in the city already you would want to hang out with?

The city really is a collection of different neighborhoods, so if you tell us more about what you enjoy, I think we can tell you where you can find that.

Also, the city > burbs. Just come take the burbs job for a while until you find a better one down town

Man, triple overtime games that go past midnight make for a horribly hungover next morning. You could just see everyone on the EL the next morning was not doing so well...
